St Joseph Council 8954 will be hosting a First Degree Ceremony on Monday, June 11th at St. Joseph Church in Richardson. The ceremony will start 7:30 pm and will be held in the"Upper Room" which can be reached by taking the elevator or stairway located off the Jupiter entrance.
All candidates and their sponsors are asked to arrive no later than 6:45 pm to start the registration process. Candidates will not be allowed to register unless a complete First Degree Kit is presented at the registration table. A complete kit consist of the following: KofC Rosary, KofC lapel pin, "These Men they Call Knights" booklet, completed Form 100 and completed Membership Card.
Form 100 must have sections 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 completed and candidate's and sponsor's signatures. Forms will be returned to the sponsor at the end of the ceremony with the date of the degree entered by the host council. It will be the responsibility of the new knight's FS to ensure completeness of the form as required before processing.
The host District Deputy will complete and distribute Form 450 as required. The new Knight's name and council will be known by Supreme, State and the Diocese and they will be expecting their Form 100s. Non-trasmittal due to non-payment of dues and or initiation fees should not be used as a reason for holding the forms. It is recommended that all dues and fees be collected before a candidate is brought to a degree ceremony to avoid calls from the Diocese asking why they have not been processed by Supreme.
If you have a Catholic friend or family member who might be interested in joining the Knights of Columbus, please invite them to join by contacting your Membership Director and/or Grand Knight to arrange a meeting with him as soon as possible. As a fellow Brother, please make every effort to attend and support the candidates who will join our Order at this time.
