SOLEMN MASS W/ BISHOP MATANO - 100TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS - ST. THERESA SHRINE

On Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 12 noon, St. Theresa’s Shrine will welcome the Most Reverend Salvatore R. Matano, Bishop of Rochester, New York to celebrate Holy Mass.

A native of Rhode Island, and alumni of both LaSalle Academy, and Our Lady of Providence Seminary, Bishop Matano served in many capacities in the Diocese of Providence until he was elevated to the episcopacy in 2000.

We are pleased to welcome him to Rhode Island for this homecoming as part of our 100th-anniversary celebrations.

Bishop Matano has written extensively in support of the 'Eucharistic Revival' being undertaken by the USCCB and will deliver a homily on 'The Eucharistic Revival and taking St. Therese as our model in the reception of the Eucharist'.

A reception with the Bishop in the church hall will follow the Mass.
