Why Walk?
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer organization providing person-to-person service to Rhode Islanders in need, offering material assistance, friendship, and dignity to all. We feed our neighbors’ bodies with food, their souls with love and friendship, their minds with empowering resources and education, and their lives with basic human needs.

Thanks to our generous donors and hardworking Vincentian volunteers, our 700 volunteers travel over 50,000 miles and volunteer over 80,000 hours, helping provide approximately $2.5 million in food and over $1.5 million in direct assistance
to Rhode Islanders in need annually.

Friends of the Poor Walk
We have over 24,000 walkers at 239 walk locations across the United States joined together to support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and annually raise over $2.4 million to help those in need.
