On the morning of September 11th, 2021 at 11am, the Knights of Columbus in Burlington participated in a special flag raising ceremony outside of the Holy Rosary Parish in Burlington. This event was hosted by our brothers from the Holy Rosary Knights of Columbus council in Burlington with representatives from four other Knights of Columbus Councils located in Burlington. There were representatives from St. Paul the Apostle Council, St. Gabriel’s Council, Holy Rosary Council, Council 5073, St. Antoine Daniel Council, and the Pope John Paul II Assembly. There were also two honour guards from the 4th degree in attendance for this ceremony, along with special guests representing the special Olympians, as well as guest dignitaries on hand to commemorate this flag raising endeavour. A total of $4000 in cheques was raised by the Knights of Columbus in Burlington from all of the K of C councils who participated and the money was presented to the Special Olympics in Burlington. It was a great day and everyone who attended was blessed with excellent weather for this occasion. Brothers Michael Thompson and Rennie Milne from our council 5073 were on hand to participate at this community event. We would like to thank brothers Michael Thompson and Rennie Milne for being on hand to represent Council 5073 at this important fund raising event for the Special Olympics.
