COUNCIL INFORMATION
Welcome to the Monsignor James Corbett Warren Memorial Council #5073 serving Burlington, Ontario
Our Council’s roots trace to St. John the Baptist Parish and we received our charter on December 12, 1960. Our Council’s name is in memory of the Pastor of St. John’s Parish who also was our founding Chaplain, Monsignor James Corbett Warren.
Over the years as Burlington grew and new parishes opened, our Council expanded to represent 5 of our Catholic parishes (St. Patrick's, St. Raphael's, St. John the Baptist, St Paul the Apostle, St. Gabriel's and Holy Rosary). With the formation of Parish councils at St. Gabriel's, Holy Rosary, St. Paul the Apostle, and St John the Baptist, council 5073 now support two parishes (St. Raphael's and St. Patrick's)
We presently have over 104 members which come from all 2 of our Parishes. Our order is founded upon the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism, and we still hold true to these principals today.
The activities of Council #5073 are many and varied in the community at large, as well as within our membership.
We raise over $20,000 per year for local charities through fundraising events such as bingos, our annual trivia night, car show, golf tournament and our cash calendar programs.
Beyond raising money for charities, we work closely with our 2 Parishes to ensure our Priests and their Parishes receive the support they need. We are men of faith, and action! We believe that through the strength and guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ, we can achieve our goals of helping those who are less fortunate within our community as well as many worthwhile fund raising causes.
Our General meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month, and our Executive meetings are held every 1st Monday of the month. Both meetings are held at our council hall at 2400 Industrial Street and start at 7:30 pm.
We would love for you to join our council. If you are interested in finding out more about the Knights of Columbus, or would like to inquire about joining, please contact Michael Mark who is our Lecturer or Lee Brown who is the membership Director.
