The annual Mid-Year District Deputies Meeting has been schedule for December 10th and 11th in Shawnee. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites located at 4909 N. Union Avenue (off I-40).

The hotel is providing the Knights of Columbus with a discounted room rate of $99 per night for King Suites. Please make your reservation directly with the hotel at (405) 275-8880 and ask for the Knights of Columbus rate or Group Code KOC by December 1, 2016. Please plan to attend this meeting, as the state council will be providing you with information and resources to assist you with your responsibilities for the remainder of the fraternal year. For each District Deputy, the Supreme Council has approved to pay those District Deputies attending to the extent of mileage, one night lodging and four meals. Where a District Deputy is required to travel in excess of 250 miles one-way, they will supplement a second night’s lodging and three additional meals.

Each District Deputy should come prepared with date, location and time of their district meeting. The Ceremonial Director is asking that you come prepared with dates for Major Degrees request for the remainder of the year, January through June 2017. In addition, I am asking each District Deputy to prepare a list of strength and weakness of your councils in the areas of membership recruitment, retention, star council status (membership, insurance & forms), roundtable potentials, Hispanic growth opportunities and council programs/activities.

The program portion of the meeting will be on Sunday. Each Program Chairman is asked to bring specific information concerning the dates and details of activities you are chairing. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please provide the information to your Program Director or the State General Program Director, Miguel Grijalva.

After Mass at St. Benedicts on Saturday evening, the State Council will host a dinner afterwards. District Deputies will be charged $25.00 and a receipt provide for you to submit to Supreme for reimbursement. Please let me know if you plan to attend the dinner.

I look forward to seeing you in Shawnee.

Fraternally yours,

Robert L. Melko

State Deputy
