The Oklahoma State Council’s Organizational Meeting and Installation of Officers and District Deputies will be held in Edmond, OK on July 10th and July 11th, 2021. The weekend will begin with a state officers meeting at the hotel at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 10th. Following the meeting, the State Officers and Program Directors and their wives will have dinner. We will convene the meeting at 9:00 am on Saturday morning with the State Officers, District Deputies, and Grand Knights will report at noon in the Great Hall at St John the Baptist in Edmond.


 


We will complete the Saturday meetings by 3:30 pm so everyone can be ready to reconvene for mass and installation at St Johns, Mass is at 5:30 pm and banquet to follow. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Konderla. On Sunday, we will have rosary at 8am at St Johns for the men and our meeting will reconvene at 9:00 am at St Johns and our meeting should conclude around 3:00 pm.  A copy of the agenda will be sent later.


 


(Grand Knights Notes:)


The State Officers feel it is critical for all the GK’s to be involved in this state planning meeting. With that said, the state officers have approved to pay for a Saturday night stay and mileage for all Grand Knights attending. In accordance with our bylaws, Mileage calculated from your home council city to Edmond, OK. Lunch Saturday and Sunday will be provided for you and your wives. A banquet dinner will also be provided Saturday. If your council is 150 miles or more from Edmond, we will also provide a Friday night stay.


 


This will be a special weekend for the state as we network and gather as a complete state leadership team, we would love for your wife to attend. We are planning some events for the ladies while we are in meetings on Saturday and Sunday.


 


 


For those District Deputies that have been reappointed please bring form 185 with you for each of your councils to ensure the State Directory is updated with the latest listing of Council Officers. For the newly appointed District Deputies, please get with your predecessor and ask him to assist you in acquiring the information.


 


Newly appointed District Deputies will need to get the district files from their predecessor. In addition, plan on providing the date of your District meeting to be held prior to August 15th. When looking for date please do not plan meeting between August 3rd to August 5th due to the Supreme Convention.


 


We will be following Archdiocese and City of Edmond guidelines for Covid. We will be offering the meeting on Zoom for those the feel it is best for them not to attend in person. This will be in a watch only mode. Whether you decide to join us in person or choose to watch on Zoom we are asking that all set this time aside for the State Organizational Meeting.


 


Please RSVP to the State Advocate at plstraamski10@gmail.com or myself by e-mail with you and your wife’s attendance information no later than June 12th. The state will be making your reservation. Where a Grand Knight is unable to attend a Deputy Grand Knight can be sent in his place. We need a total count of banquet attendees plus we need a count of ladies planning to attend events on Saturday and Sunday. If you are bringing any children with you, please add them to your response.
