The “Running of the Rose” began in 1960 as a project of the Columbian Squires of North America to honor the Blessed Virgin under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas. Our Lady used the miracle of the roses in her visions to Juan Diego. Through the program, Knights show our support for the Church and its bishops and priests as we pray for the continued strength to do so in these troubled times. The Silver Rose also symbolizes our commitment to restoring respect for the sanctity of human life from conception until death.
This year the Knights are “running” five Silver Roses across Canada and the United States, starting in April. The five roses come together in Texas to travel over the International Bridge on 12 December and handed over to the Knights from Monterrey.

The Knights of Wisconsin will receive the Silver Rose from Minnesota on 8 June. We will be running the Rose throughout the State, stopping for periods of prayer. We will transfer the Rose to Illinois on 29 June.
