Chapter Announcements

Diocese of Tyler has met 100% of it's Charity goal for the last 30 years.

NEW Annual Report on Council Status (#944)

District deputies now have to submit only one annual report for each council in their district. The new online form is a simple yes/no twenty-question survey style report that can be completed on your phone. The due date is September 15, so it is imperative that DDs meet with their councils over the summer. The new format will provide actionable data for timely support of councils.

NEW Founders’ Award Requirements

For the 2022-23 fraternal year, councils must have a minimum of seven member or member eligible attendees at each Fraternal Benefit Seminar. Collaborate with the field agents in your district to help all your councils earn the Founders’ Award. This will also help you earn Star District.

Support the Archdiocese of the Military

The Knights of Columbus established a scholarship program
to help fund the education of seminarians preparing to
become Catholic chaplains in the U.S. Armed Forces. The
need is critical and our support is crucial to provide a remedy.
The men and women who serve us daily deserve our gratitude
and support. Will you please join us ensure their spiritual health?

Aid and Support After Pregnancy "ASAP"

The ASAP initiative, which falls under the Pregnancy Center Support program, was launched on July 1st to support pregnancy centers and maternity homes in the United States and Canada. For every $500 (funds or items) donated (up to $2,000) by a council or assembly, Supreme will donate another $100 to the same pregnancy center or maternity home. Please promote this program to help the Order reach its goal of donating $5 million before the end of the 2022-2023 fraternal year!

Holy Hours and Eucharistic Processions

Holy Hours and Eucharistic Processions are crucial parts of Knights of Columbus programming this fraternal year. These devotions support the National Eucharistic Revival, a three-year initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) to promote devotion to the Eucharist.

Eucharistic procession training materials are available to councils and assemblies to help their parishes organize and run the processions at https://www.kofc.org/en/who-we-are/our-faith/eucharist.html

Holy Hour prayer service guides are also available at https://www.kofc.org/en/what-we-do/faith-in-action-programs/faith/holy-hour.html

Bishop Joseph Strickland

Tuesday August 2, 2022

Pope Saint John Paul II on a trip

to America during the American Bicentennial,

made the following comments:

"We are now standing in the face of the
greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that
wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community
realize this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church
and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel. This confrontation lies
within the plans of divine Providence; it is a trial which the whole Church… must take up. It is a trial of not only… the Church, but, in a sense, a test of 2,000 years of culture and Christian civilization with all
of its consequences for human dignity, individual rights, human rights, and the rights of nations."

We must awaken to the reality that these prophetic words of Pope Saint John Paul II spoken in 1976 are unfolding before our eyes. We must proclaim Jesus Christ more vigorously than ever before.

Let us be strengthened by the words of Jesus that Saint John Paul repeated so often…BE NOT AFRAID
