The Brief History of Our Lady of the Valley
Assembly 3124
The primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to the Eucharist and our Faith through active membership in the Fourth Degree Assembly 3124.
Assembly 3124 was established at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on June 19, 2008. Previously any Fourth Degree members of Our Lady of the Valley Council 11575 had been part of the Greeley or Loveland Councils. Bud Hivner was elected as the first Faithful Navigator, and a Color Corps of seven Knights was created.
As of March 2015, we have 68 Fourth Degree members including our Pastor and both our parish Deacons. Additionally, our Color Corps consists of 25 members. Our activities and projects include such things as the purchase of American and Papal flags in our new church, support of the Boy Scouts efforts to install a lighted flagpole at Our Lady of the Valley Church and decoration of veterans’ graves with crosses on Memorial Day weekend, Parish Patriotic Events, support to Special Olympics, and participation in the Greeley Stampede Independence Day parade.
