Faithful Navigator’s Message

Brother Sir Knights,

It is with great honor that I have assumed the role as your Faithful Navigator of Assembly #2914, Pope John Paul II, for a second term. I look forward to growing the Assembly not only in new member numbers, but in spirit.  We have a fantastic Captain in Eddie Castaneda and a committed Pilot in Kevin O’Connor. Our other officers are Admiral Bob Neiman, Purser Ric James, Comptroller John Sliwinski, Scribe Jim Ryan, Sentinels Tom Duncan and Bill Leake, Trustees PFN Tom Hohn, Joe Hunter, and PFN Bob Fay. Our Faithful Friar is Fr. Anthony Killian.

 After our recent Officer Installation Ceremony some brothers approached me about our planned events for the new fraternal year and offered to help with the planning and execution of our programs to help make them successful, including attracting new members to the 4th degree. What a great way to start the new fraternal year.  I am looking forward to navigating our Assembly to another successful year, and with your help qualifying for the Star Assembly Award.

Besides the goal of increasing our membership, a big goal of mine is to grow our Color Corps numbers by at least 75%, from 8 members to 14.  We are pleased to say our Color Corps now has a Commander, PFN Buck Coates.  Buck is already doing a great job and has 3 Knights in the process of ordering their uniforms (ORD) and join the Color Corps.   We will continue to push to add members to the Corps. Perhaps, maybe some continued incentives for the uniform purchases.

We have many exciting events and programs to look forward to as an Assembly this year.  I am confident that we can find ways to grow, serve our community, make a difference in our parishes, and honor our military men and women, while exemplifying our 4th Degree principle, Patriotism.
