John L. Murphy Age 64, late of New Lenox. Born November 11, 1952 in Joliet, IL. Passed away November 2, 2017 at home after battling cancer bravely for 7 years. John retired in April of 2017 after 31 years as a Fire Claim Adjuster for State Farm Insurance Co. A member of K of C Fr. Dick Allen Council #10926 serving as Past Grand Knight, Financial Secretary and Past District Deputy. John is survived by his wife of 44 years; Terrie (nee Melcher) Murphy. A daughter Erin (Dan) Okrzesik. Sons Shawn (Lauren “LTâ€) and Pat Murphy. Beloved grandchildren Bridget & Hannah Okrzesik and Maddox & McKinley Murphy. Brother Donald Murphy, sisters Kathleen (late Ken) Kapinus & Helen Murphy. Many nieces & nephews and too many friends to mention. He was preceded in death by his parents John M. and Helen Murphy. The family would like to thank his Doctors Sunil Narula & Rick Singh for their great healthcare the last 7 years. Funeral Monday Nov. 6th 10:00 AM from the Hickey Memorial Chapel 442 E. Lincoln Hwy. New Lenox to St. Jude Church for Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery Romeoville. Visitation Sunday 2 – 7 PM. |
