TONIGHT!!
SILVER ROSE PRAYER SERVICE
All are invited to be part of a special prayer service tonight. The Silver Rose is making a 1-night prayer stop at St. Theresa's Church on its 9-month pilgrimage from Canada, through the United States, to Mexico. This special program is co-sponsored by our Holy Family Council #11981, the Holy Ghost Council #4977, and the Combined Respect Life Team of St. Theresa and St. Thomas of Villanova.
The Silver Rose Prayer Program reaffirms our Catholic commitment to the Sanctity of Life; to pray for International Unity; and especially to honor the Blessed Virgin under her title of Our Lady of Guadalupe. See details in below article.
HOT DOGS, BRATS & BURGERS…
…were lovingly prepared and presented last week to our Academy parents and children at their Back to School Picnic, and to the benefactors of the Teen Mission Trip. Thanks to Greg & Dean-o, respectively, for leading these events and to all who participated. There are pictures to view in the article below.
FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN (FMSC) PACK NIGHT. Thursday August 31.
FMSC offers us volunteers a one-of-a-kind experience. Working in a team in a fun & creative process, we’ll hand-pack rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags. Some of us will seal & box the bags which will then be placed on pallets and shipped to FMSC‘s partners working hard to reach the neediest children around the world.
Through volunteering at FMSC, you’ll get the chance to impact hundreds of kids in your 2 hour packing shift. You, & your family, will experience what it’s like to make a tangible difference today.
See the article below and join Anita & me, and other 11981 families, by signing up TODAY.
INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES DRIVE
In just two weeks we will start our annual "Tootsie Roll" Drive...which will be run on TWO September weekends this year. We’re gonna need to fill a lot of shifts this year. If you’re physically able, please please please sign up! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS AND TO SIGN UP.
AND... if you’re NOT physically able to handle street corners or store fronts but you want to help, contact me. Greg.Flanagan@comcast.net We have a related side project that you could do in the comfort of your home!
HOLY FAMILY PADS SITE RETURNS
As you should know, from speakers at mass and bulletin announcements, Holy Family is looking to re-open our Sunday night/Monday morning PADS shelter this fall. IN PARTICULAR, the parish is looking for...
- ...someone to be the Sunday evening Kitchen Coordinator once or twice a month. If that's YOU...let me know.
- ...many folks to step up for any individual shifts. ALL Knights, Ladies and friends are encouraged to participate in this important effort.
See the Bulletin for details (link to bulletin can be found below)

FINALLY...
Our Annual VOCATIONS DRIVE & RAFFLE is under way!
Our Council retains the majority of Raffle income with the rest going to State KC Vocations efforts. Last year, our council provided $500 gifts to three seminarians including parishioners (now Brother Knights!) Friar Tyler Harris and Jack Rosenwinkel.
These Brothers, and other seminarians, are counting on continued support from the Knights!! There are multiple ways to donate which are described in the article below. I encourage everyone to generously support this effort...and get yourself some chances to win $10,000!!
God Bless!

FIRST FRIDAY ADORATION IN PERSON, or from home
August 31st/September 1st
Adoration is EXTENDED to ALL!! In addition to those who are adoring in person, we look to ALL Brother Knights to spend time in prayer anytime First Friday.
During your adoration time, please include prayer for the many on our Council Prayer List (below)
Especially if you aren't one into silent prayer, please consider getting out of your comfort zone to spend time with the Blessed Sacrament. You likely will be surprised by the (new) comfort it brings to be still in prayer for one hour.
Every month we have a few "open" slots for live adoration. Contact PGK/Faith Director Glenn Yamamoto to sign up for one of those openings. yamo225@gmail.com Cell: 847-609-2983
