Gary L Jesenick
Gary is a key member of the kitchen team every year for the Lenten Fish Fry. He is also a regular member of the Saturday team at the HA food pantry. Gary recently attended the Silver Rose prayer service on August 15th and was a tremendous help at the recent parish picnic grilling, helping to move tables and chairs, and assisting to finish clean up the area.
Thomas R Wright
Tom has stepped up to fill the Deputy Grand Knight role beginning in July. He has previously served as Grand Knight, Family Program Director, and other roles. Tom is active each year with the ID Drive and Lenten Fish Fry. Tom's other commitments include Cursillo, Meals on Wheels, and the HA food pantry.
Joseph D Didier
Joe has been active in many Knight events in the past several months. He recently organized and led the Mother's Day flower distribution. Joe also worked at the Lenten Fish Fry and supports Marty Wolding with the annual free throw contest. Joe has led our tootsie roll drive at the Jewel in Sugar Grove for many years.
Matthew D Guthrie
Matt participates in a number of areas for the council. He is the council representative for scheduling Woodmans hours for the ID drive. Matt also manages the kiosk materials and oversees the charity distribution transactions. Matt is a regular at weekly adoration and former Grand Knight and District Deputy. Currently Matt is the Third Year Trustee.
Mr. Timothy J St Clair
Tim has supported the council in several areas. Tim had a leadership role in the 2023 Mark Bancroft 5K race in the race organization and sourcing of sponsors. Tim worked the pancake breakfast in November and has been part of the kitchen crew for this year's Lenten Fish Fry. Tim is a former Inside Guard.
Jim Leden
Jim helped out a fellow parishioner early in February with an emergency plumbing issue on very short notice. Jim shares his time and talent with plumbing services to parishioners at discount rates or often without payment. Jim also did free plumbing work at the pantry during the renovation. Jim is a regular at 6:30 Mass on Fridays and daily at 6:30 Mass during Lent.
Vincent A India
Vince is a consistent council supporter in a variety of roles. He has been the Inside Guard for many years, attends most council meetings, assists with the annual ID drive, and helps out at the Lenten Fish Fry as often as his work schedule allows. Vince is also a strong supporter of the seminarian raffle each year.
Joseph Michael McKee
Mike has been a consistent contributor to the council for many years. Currently, he is a member of the men's Saturday prayer group and prays at Waterleaf each month. Mike is also a member of the funeral choir and is active in the Cursillo program. In prior years Mike was part of Saturday team at the food pantry, worked Lenten Fish Fry, and was a regular volunteer at Hesed House.
Father Dean Smith
Father Dean Smith is a Fourth Degree Knight. Father Smith has been a great asset to the parish the past four years. His weekday homilies poke fun at the lectionary compilers and provide good insight into the relationship of the readings for the week. Besides regular priest functions Father Smith has provided weekly classes in Bible Study and other topics. Father Smith also supports SVDP each year by participating in the annual walk.
Michael L Butler
Mike has been VERY good at helping Brother Paul Fleming. Mike brings Paul to the men's Saturday morning prayer group, monthly council meetings, and provides transportation home after Saturday morning Mass. The trip home often includes breakfast at McDonalds.
Mr. Thomas Buldak
Tom has been active since joining our council several months ago. He participated in two Roadside Cleanup events, attended the Silver Rose prayer service with his family, and is on the planning team for the "Into the Breach" program.
James Power
Jim has been coordinating our pro-life programs in lieu of a LIFE Director. He recently did all the legwork for the council’s Silver Rose program, which was held on the Feast of the Assumption, by obtaining the Rose, securing one of our Deacons to present the program, and Jim performed the LEADER role. Also, Jim has done the legwork for our upcoming prayer program for the memorial to the unborn, and scoped out other upcoming LIFE programs for the future.
Mr. James L Griffin
Jim is involved in a wide range of activities. He is a regular for adoration each week from 2AM to 3AM. Jim attended the March for Life in Springfield in March and assisted with the HA parking lot cleanup after the July 3rd fireworks. Jim will also be chairman for Woodmans for the ID Drive and is now part of the officers in his role of Advocate.
Christopher Boes
Chris has been active in a wide variety of activities. He attends Daily Mass and lectors both weekends and Daily Mass. He volunteered during many Friday Fish Frys and recently made his Cursillo weekend. Chris also volunteers at the Food Pantry. In the next fraternal year Chris will be the Outside Guard and Faith Program Director.
Logan Guthrie
Logan recently passed a very challenging cybersecurity exam to secure his position with the Air Force. He is now stationed in Alaska. While at home for Holy Week he was part of the Honor Guard on Holy Thursday.
Craig A Lacour
Craig has been a key part of the team working on the food pantry renovation project. He has donated time for sanding, staining, filling, and painting the woodwork to make it look bright and new.
Mr. Daniel T Kuttner
Dan has been very active in March working several nights at the Fish Fry and working a two-hour shift at the Knights on Bridges for Life on March 25th. Dan also coaches girls' volleyball teams at Holy Angels School.
Steven Ondrla
Steve is active in several areas in the parish. He is a member of SVDP, is a regular at adoration from 4AM to 5AM, and attends daily 6:30 AM Mass on a regular basis. Steve has been a key resource in the recent drywall project our council did at the Holy Angels Food Pantry.
Patrick J Gengler
Pat supports our Council and the parish in my roles. Pat is the Recorder and maintains our Meta/Facebook page. During our large events such as Fish Fry and ID Drive, Pat play leading roles. Pat is also the head usher.
Tom Wright
Tom currently serves as Family Program Director. In the past Tom has held many council positions including GK. Tom is active each year in our major events such as Lenten Fish Fry and ID Drive.
Martin T Hieronimi
Marty has been very helpful with Knight projects over the past several months. He was part of the team who assembled the new playground area for the school. He also assisted 2-3 times with the pantry renovation including landscaping and restoration of the pantry bathroom.
Martin N Wolding
Sir Knight Marty Wolding is one of those brothers that every council would like to have with his tireless service to the council and community. When our parish picnic BBQ grillers dropped out one by one, Marty stepped up to cook hot dogs and burgers along with another brother Knight. He participated in the Holy Angels Confirmation Honor Guard, and he took charge of the Holy Angels food pantry basement repair and landscaping projects spanning several weeks. He always provides valuable insight and guidance with his 26+ years as a Knight. He is a true blessing for the council.
John D Schreiber
John has shown excellent leadership by being the overall chairman for the 2-day Intellectual Disabilities (Tootsie roll) drive. His duties include coordinating the locations and combining tootsie roll orders with other councils and delivering them. John's role also includes many administrative duties that involve time consuming paperwork.
Ray Froehlich
Ray is a steady hand for the council in all financial matters. This year he agreed to return to the Treasurer's position. Ray's insights on the financials leads to a successful and painless semi-annual audit. He also submits the list of KC volunteers to the city for our ID drive.
Rick Marsh
Rick has shown leadership in many roles this past year. Rick is the Financial Secretary for our council and was recently elected Faithful Navigator for Assembly #188. Rick is also co-chair with GK Phil Brink for the Annual 5K Walk and Run to be held in October. Rick is a regular lector at Sunday Mass.
Joseph D Didier
Joe has been active in many areas the past several months. First, being part of the Lenten Fish Fry Team. Also, he had leadership roles with Free Throw Contest, Mother's Day Flower distribution, and St. Joseph card hand out on Father's Day.

Jim is a new Knight who has been very active since joining. Jim was a key participant in assisting Angie McGehee move to a new apartment, even breaking out his toolbox to fix some shelfing. Jim also assisted at the Fish Fry during Lent.

Chris has been a very active Knight since joining in March. He participated each week during the Fish Fry during Lent. Chris is a regular attendee at weekday 6:30 AM Mass, volunteers at the Food Pantry, and also lectors at weekend Masses.
Reverend Michael G Lavan
Fr. Lavan is VERY active in the parish in his role as pastor. He does so many things like Masses at the nursing homes, visiting the sick, ministering to the dying. PLUS, he has to endure challenges like having natural gas fumes fill the church TWICE this year, and he still allowed us to do the fish fry. After most morning Masses, he can be found in the confessional even though it is not scheduled.
Philip T Brink
Phil has been involved in many Knight events and parish activities. Phil was one of the key leaders for the very successful 5K event last year. Phil volunteers at Hesed House, is one of our master grillers, participated in last year's Knight on Bridges for Life, and is a regular at weekly adoration.
Joseph M Williams
Joe has been a Knight for 18 years and served in a variety of roles. Recently, he has served as acting leader of the Family Program, filling in for Tim Dallas. Joe has helped at Fish Fry last year and at Major Degree ceremonials when scheduled in previous years.
Ronald F Kloc
Thanks to Ron for his generous donation of 10 boys and girls coats, purchased from Macy's during a Black Friday event. This purchased brought our total coats donated to 136.
Timothy J St.Clair
Tim was a great resource supporting the Mark Bancroft 5K Race this year. He provided a race coordinator and timer to Rick and Phil which improved event efficiency and improved profitability. Tim also serves as Inside Guard.
Martin N Wolding
Marty helps at most events sponsored by the Knights such as being on the 5K team and helping with the free throw contest. He was chairman of the recent pancake breakfast which was a very successful event. Marty is twice past Grand Knight and a valuable member of the council.
James R Power
Jim has done a fantastic job as our council LIFE director, leading and coordinating many activities, including some recent unplanned ones like the "National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children" and Knights on Bridges for Life". He is also a great liaison to the parish social justice director.

Pat did a great job during the ID drive with his team as they raised a large amount of donations at the Intersection of Galena and Orchard. Pat also contributed by cooking at the recent picnic along with his regular role as Recorder.

Deacon Thomas R Hawksworth
Deacon Tom did an outstanding job leading the National Day of Remembrance for the Unborn Prayer Service on Saturday September 18. He does a great job each month with spiritual insights at the Council meeting. Also, Tom has been a key leader for many years at the men's Saturday morning prayer group.
Martin N Wolding
PGK Marty Wolding did an excellent job leading the Silver Rose program at Holy Angels on August 17. He recruited council members for the Reader and Lector positions and made sure the program was listed in the Bulletin and as a pulpit announcement. Marty also drove to Rockford to pick up the Silver Rose and then deliver it to St. Therese after our program was completed.
Raymond W Froehlich
Ray does a fantastic service to the council, but many of them are behind the scenes. In addition to his assistance with the council financials, he has recently been very active for our upcoming ID Drive, securing our city permit to solicit as well as contacting the Charity he volunteers with. He also spearheaded the effort to replace our KofC sign at the church with a more robust sign.

Joe took a leadership role in the Mother's Day flower distribution at all the Masses. He was responsible for picking up the flowers and coordinating the Knights who worked at each Mass.

John showed great initiative and leadership in contacting Woodman's to schedule another weekend in April for the ID drive. The two day drive was a great success with total receipts of $3197.74.

Dean has always been an outstanding member of the council, volunteering for many activities including chairing our annual roadside cleanup and helping with the ID Drive at the intersection, and coordinating a Leave No Neighbor Behind food packing event with Feed My Starving Children. Also, this year as Community Director, he has been VERY busy coordinating our essay contest, coats for kids (and adults, an eyeglass collection for February and a virtual blood drive for March. In addition, Dean lectors at Mass and helps to clean and disinfect the church. He has also worked many years with SPRED (Special Religious Education) with his special need's daughter.
Richard H. Marsh, Jr.
As Financial Secretary, Rick has arguably the hardest officer position in the council. He is one of the best. Rick has assisted Phil Brink with running the 5K fundraiser each year. This year it was questionable whether we could have the race due to the pandemic. It turned out to be one of our most successful fund raiser of the year.
John Heneghan
John's 5K team was the highest fundraising team with $1480 collected from the event including John's individual sponsorship that he does. A great effort from our local financial services expert who also helps many in our church with their retirement savings and life protection efforts!
Jerry Knudtston
For the generous support of our council for both the ID Drive (aka tootsie rolls) and for the sponsorship for the virtual 5K walk/run so we can continue to support our charities which are in most need. He also helped with a contact person for our coats for kids to obtain additional new coats.

Tom is one of the many go-to guys, especially in the month of September during our annual ID drive. His dedication is outstanding especially during this pandemic.

Deacon Thomas P White Family
Deacon Tim and Pat White are involved in many ministries. Deacon Tim handles baptisms, pre-marriage formation, and the RCIA (OCIA) program. Deacon Tim and Pat each bring the Eucharist to the homebound, weekly visits to independent living facilities, plus being part of the monthly local nursing home team. They both visit the Bickford weekly, and Deacon does Constitution house. Pat is still involved with the Funeral Ministry and Deacon Tim is a long-time member of the Saturday morning men's prayer group. Both attend daily 6:30 AM Mass.
Daniel E Wright Family
We are recognizing Dan and Laura for their special efforts supporting the Phil Brink family during their recent struggles. Laura spent extra time helping the family but most importantly helping to coordinate a twice a week meal train for the family, visited often to help with feeding tube and miscellaneous necessities (Laura is a registered nurse), and helped with the wake and funeral Mass for Rita. Dan and Laura continued their regular commitments; Dan is a cantor, active with scouts and Cursillo. Laura heads up parish worship activities, is part of the Bellarmine Ladies, and is active in Cursillo.
Thomas A Boes Family
Tom is an Honorary member of the Knights. He recently worked at the Lenten Fish Fry and the pancake breakfast in November. Tom and his sons, Christopher and Nicholas are regular volunteers at the HA food pantry. Chris and Nic are active in Cursillo and Chris is a lector. The larger Boes family has strong Catholic family values which includes a cousin who is a priest.
James E Campbell Family
Jim supports our council by participating at the Lenten Fish Frys, supporting the seminarian raffle, and helping with the tootsie roll drive. Jim is also a former council officer. Carol is a trustee for the Bellarmine Ladies. Jim and Carol are regulars at weekday 6:30 AM Mass.
Mark and Claire Kearby Family
Mark and Claire are regulars at weekly adoration (different churches) and both volunteer at the HA food pantry. Claire recently (December) spearheaded an effort to coordinate the annual St. Anne's cookie and craft fair to accommodate the funeral luncheon for a deceased Brother Knight. They are also members of the Holy Angels choir and sing at the 9:30am Mass.
Bill and Leesa Birch
Bill and Leesa Birch have been active parish supporters over many years. Bill helps out at fish frys, works the tootsie roll drive, and is an Honorary Life member holding many positions. Bill is also a member of the degree ceremonial team. Leesa is the treasurer for the Bellarmine Ladies, our KofC auxiliary. She also does baking for pancake breakfasts and fish fry nights.
Matt Wiesner Family
Matt and his wife Tiffany have seven children: five girls and two boys. Four of the girls are altar servers and both boys are altar servers, including for the Latin Mass. The oldest, Christopher, also serves as an usher and their younger son, Michael, is also a lector. Tiffany home schools one of her daughters, and the others attend Holy Angels and Benet Academy. The family regularly attends the Sunday 8AM Mass.
Raymond W Froehlich Family
Ray and Dar are active in many areas in the parish. Ray is council Treasurer, works Lenten Fish Fry, manages shirt purchasing program, and makes his personal Christmas ornaments for parishioners each year. Dar is a regular at daily 6:30AM Mass and at weekly adoration in the afternoon.

Fred and Marcia Schoenfeld have made significant financial contributions to the coat drive the past two years. Fred has not been active recently due to health issues, but Marcia is still active with the Bellarmine Ladies and is also a trustee.

Dan and Laura support the parish in many areas. Dan is a cantor, active in scouts, and also with Cursillo. Laura heads up the worship activities including lectors, servers, and readers. Laura is a member of the Bellarmine Ladies and is also involved with Cursillo. Their son plays organ and piano for weekend Masses.

She recently participated in the annual dinner for Hesed House sponsored by the Bellarmine Ladies.
Walter C Jones Family
Chuck and Candy have been regulars at weekly adoration for many years. Candy is a member of the choir and Chuck used to be a member until he had health issues. Chuck is a long-time member of the men's Saturday morning prayer group and was leader of the Life Chain event until last year. Chuck and Candy and their larger family (Cindy and Marty Hieronimi) often attend the Fish Fry and Mass together.
John S Heneghan Family
John is a regular for adoration each week from 4AM to 5AM. He is also a long-time member of the Mens Saturday Morning Rosary Group. John is part of the team which visits Pearl convalescent home each month. His wife, Pat, teaches 7th Grade Religious Education, and is the lead instructor getting the students ready for Confirmation.
Mr. James W Renshaw , Jr. Family
James's wife, Christa, is co-director of the Holy Angels Food Pantry. Their daughter, Addy, is an altar server and usually serves at Saturday 4:30 PM Mass. James also volunteers his time a the Food Pantry.
Joseph M Vagnoni Family
Joe worked several Fish Frys this Lent as part of the cleanup crew. Joe is also an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at the Pearl. Joe's wife, Margaret, is a lector and daughter Abby has participated in Knight's events such as the free throw contest and essay contest.
Edward D Orr Family
Ed has been active in the Fish Fry as part of the kitchen team for over 20 years. He has been a regular at daily Mass and before his accident an Extraordinary Minister at Pearl. Jill is co-director of HA food pantry and a Protestant minister at Plum Landing Retirement Community. She has been instrumental in many of the recent pantry renovations.
Roger and Elizabeth Earl Family
Roger regularly attends daily 6:30 AM Mass and often brings one or more of his children with him. Elizabeth is a lector, member of the Bellarmine Ladies, and home schools her children. Their sons, Marek and Roque, are altar servers. The family attends most pro-life events at the parish such as the recent Novena for Life and in the September the National Day of Remembrance.

Matt is our District Deputy and faithful purser for Assembly #188 (4th degree). Tiffany has a leadership role in Cursillo, participates in Bellarmine Ladies, and is a lector. Their son Logan is in the Air Force and daughter Brie is an altar server. The family attends weekly adoration together.
Darrel J Bancroft Family
Darrel currently serves as Warden and participates in activities such as Fish Fry, pancake breakfasts, and is a member of the degree team. Darrel's wife Julie is very active in the Bellarmine Ladies. Darrel's extended family serves in the Aurora community in key areas. Darrel's son Peter has been with the Aurora police department for about 30 years and Peter's youngest daughter Lauren is an altar server. Darrel's daughter-in-law Cindy is a nurse and works at Waterleaf. Her son, Paul, is also a nurse.
The Nick and Mia Handell Family
The Nick and Mia Handell family are a great example of a practicing Catholic family. Nick is a firefighter and a great father to his five children. Mia finds time outside her family commitments to lead the Holy Angels Moms Group which meets every week to share faith and motherhood.
James and Denise Power Family
Jim has done a superb job as our council's LIFE director coordinating the many pro-life activities not just with the council but with Holy Angels parish and other local councils. He is a daily Mass participant and also lectors. He is the Chancellor for the council, and he and his wife Denise are very active in the parish St. Vincent DePaul Society where she is the Treasurer and Jim is a home visitor.
Chris and Gina Ragsdale
The Chris Ragsdale Family has been selected as Family of the Month for August. His family includes wife Gina, daughter Keira, and sons Nick and Tim. Chris is in the permanent diaconate program. Currently, he is a regular lector at Sunday Mass. Both his sons are altar servers. Chris is a former Knight who left a few years ago due to outside demands. His wife Chris is active at Holy Angels School.
Ty and Jane Simmons
Ty and Jane Simmons have been chosen as Family of the month for July. Ty and Jane are the Right to Life Chair Couple for Illinois. Both have been very active in the Knights on Bridges for Life program. Jane is President of the parish SVDP council and works with St. Anne societies. Ty is a regular lector at Sunday Mass.
Deacon Thomas P White Family
Deacon Tim and his wife Pat are involved in many parts of parish life. Deacon Tim, in his Deacon role does baptisms, pre-marriage formation, and regular visits to the nursing homes. Pat joins Deacon Tim in many nursing home visits and is a eucharistic minister. Pat also serves a part of the Funeral ministry. Deacon Tim is also a regular member of the Saturday morning Men's Rosary group.
Mr. Robert D. Gatze Family
Bob and Rose provide a wide range of support to the parish. Bob has been a regular cantor for many years and assisted with the Baby Bottle program this year. Rose wears many hats; Religious Education with Mimi, parish Outreach, pro-life organizer for parish activities, and helping at Hesed House.
Adam Kopcio Family
Adam and his family assisted at the Fish Fry during Lent. Daughter Anna, who attends Rosary, was a runner and helped with desert sales. Adam served meals and also helped with cleanup. Adam was also part of the Honor Guard at Holy Thursday. Adam and his wife Pamela have two sons and four daughters. Their younger children attend Holy Angels School, and their oldest daughter, a recent Rosary graduate, will be attending Loras College next Fall.

Dan has been very active in March working the Fish Fry and participating in the Knights on Bridges for Life on March 19. His wife Heather is an active parishioner and is a lector. His daughters, Caroline and Kathryn are altar servers and usually serve at 11AM Sunday Mass.

I would like to nominate Jose Chavarria and Rose Konieczny-Chavarria for their work and efforts for cooking for the 5K race. Jose also helps cook at various events, including our upcoming pancake breakfast.

John coordinated our annual ID Drive again this year, and his family did an outstanding job as well. The Woodman's grocery store has THREE doors to cover, and when we didn't have enough Knight volunteers his family stepped in. With their efforts, we collected almost $3,900 at that location alone.

Deacon Tom and his wife Pauline are excellent examples of how a married couple can practice their Catholic faith. Deacon Tom has supported our parishioners through his Cursillio work, pro-life leadership, and frequent talks at funeral services. Pauline has been very active with SVDP, Bellarmine Ladies, St. Ann's Society, and other functions such at Fish Fry.
Matthew D Guthrie Family
Matt and his wife Tiffany and their children are excellent role models for our Catholic faith. The family attends Adoration together, Tiffany is a lector, and several of the children are currently or have been altar servers.

Joe and his wife Mary have worked together on many Knight events. The most recent event was the Mother's Day flower distribution. This year was a challenge due to COVID restrictions and their efforts made the event a success.

John and his family were instrumental in a great ID Drive weekend in April as $3197.74 was raised in two days. John contacted Woodman's and with a small Council weekend crew and his family we raised enough money to hit our annual ID target.

Ray and Darlene have been long time supporters of many ministries at Holy Angels. Ray has held many leadership roles in our Council in addition to providing short term support to many causes especially the Fish Fry and financial help. Darlene has been involved with the Food Pantry, SVDP, and most recently with volunteer support at Masses six days per week.
Joseph D Didier Family
Joe and Mary Didier are consistently involved in many Knight's efforts. Each year Joe is a leader in the Id drives with Mary's assistance. Most recently they ran a very successful coat drive. To make it more challenging, they did it while recovering from the COVID-19 virus.
Phil Brink Family
To Rita and Phil Brink for helping to lead the charge with a most successful Virtual 5K event. It was Phil's idea to make the event go Global with runs potentially coming from anywhere around the world. Thanks to their energy, the event was a great success! Thank you!

Phil and Rita opened their home their children when their children needed them (moved back in while buying a house). Rita and Phil volunteer at Hesed House and Rita volunteers at the parish food pantry.
