The Dufilho Family

April Family of the Month The Dufilho Family Each month, the Knights of Columbus Council 4298 proudly recognizes a family that exemplifies faith, service, and dedication to our St. Pius X community. For April 2025, we are honored to recognize the Dufilho family as our Family of the Month. Stephen and Adele have been parishioners of St. Pius X for over 54 years, having moved to San Antonio shortly after their marriage. Their strong belief in Catholic education led them to enroll their five children—Catherine, John, Elizabeth, Mark, and Michael—in Catholic schools, starting with St. Pius X. Their positive experience with Catholic education at St. Pius X encouraged them to continue providing a Catholic instruction for their children through college. Steve and Adele are passionate about their faith and volunteering. They began volunteering at St. Pius X, where Steve taught Confirmation classes and Adele managed the church nursery. Additionally, Adele volunteered as a teacher at St. Pius X Catholic School, served on the School Council, and was a member of the Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) Board at St. Pius X. She also led the Girl Scout program at St. Pius X for over 10 years, while Steve co-chaired numerous parish festivals. They served as sponsor couples for the Marriage Preparation Course and acted as Renew Group Leaders. Remarkably, Steve and Adele’s contributions extend beyond the parish. Adele has been a volunteer at Ascension DePaul since 1975, where she founded the "Back to School" and Christmas programs to assist both children and seniors in the community. She also raises funds for Ascension DePaul. Both she and Steve are Associates of the Daughters of Charity. It is a privilege to present the Dufilho Family as the April Family of the Month.

The Uribe Family

January Family of the Month The Uribe Family Each month, the Knights of Columbus Council 4298 proudly recognizes a family that exemplifies faith, service, and dedication to our St. Pius X community. For January 2025, we are honored to recognize the Uribe family as our Family of the Month. Christine Uribe, an alumna of the St. Pius X Class of 2001, continues to give back to her parish and school community in countless ways. She has served as the Parent-Teacher Council (PTC) President for three years, overseeing beloved events such as the Halloween Carnival, Mother-Son Dance, and Father-Daughter Dance. Additionally, she co-chairs the annual gala, serves as Treasurer on the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Board, and assists with our parish Fish Fry. Christine’s devotion to her faith is evident in her service as a Eucharistic Minister. Her husband, Daniel, is equally committed to serving our parish. He actively volunteers as a Watch D.O.G. (Dads Of Great Students), ensuring a positive presence at the school, and dedicates his time as a CYO coach, guiding young athletes in both sports and their faith. Their children follow in their parents’ footsteps, contributing their time and energy to the church and school. Bella, a third grader at St. Pius X, serves as an altar server, cheers for the SPX teams, sings in the 10:15 choir, and participates in CYO sports. Arthur, a kindergartner, enjoys playing CYO and eagerly helps carry the collection basket during Mass. Their youngest, Luke, who is in Pre-K4, also plays CYO and shares the joy of assisting with the basket at weekend Masses. The Uribe family embodies the spirit of faith, service, and community that makes St. Pius X such a special place. Please join us in congratulating them as our Family of the Month!

December 2024

The Rios Family

December Family of the Month The Roland Family Congratulations to the Rios Family for being honored as the December Knights of Columbus Family of the Month. The Rios/Daniels family exemplifies dedication at St. Pius X, actively participating in both the Church and the School. Dr. Roland Rios is a prominent lector at the 8:00 am Mass, serves as the Recorder for the Knights of Columbus, and leads the Core Team for the St. Pius X program, “That Man is You” Men’s Group. In a moment of need, he stepped up to take over the High School SPY program for the 2024 Fall Semester, demonstrating true leadership. Additionally, he is a valued member of the School Council and was the visionary behind the school’s WatchDOGS program. Roland also directed our last Men’s ACTS Retreat, bringing inspiration to our community. Alongside his wife, Leticia, the Rios family has made tremendous contributions to the school’s Gala Committee and the planning of both the Fall Halloween Fest and our Church’s Spring Festival. Their daughter, Ariana Daniels, and her husband Tyler are also pillars of our Parish and School community. Ariana has made her mark as a mentor parent for new school families, co-chairing the school’s Halloween Carnival planning committee and serving as a CYO team mom. Tyler is recognized as one of our exceptional CYO Coaches and serves on the CYO Board. Tyler and Roland have also collaborated to provide photography services for the Church directory app and our CYO teams. As a Core Team member for “That Man is You” and a Knight of Columbus, Tyler's involvement enriches our community. The Rios family's commitment shines through in their grandchildren, Brayden and Kinsley, who can be seen bringing forth the collection basket at the 8:00 am Mass, embodying the spirit of service. Both children have been honored with the School’s esteemed “Leaders for Christ” award, a testament to the values instilled in them by their remarkable family.

November 2024

The Williams Family

November Family of the Month The Williams Family Congratulations to the Williams Family for being named the November Knights of Columbus Family of the Month. The Williams family has been a cornerstone of the St. Pius X Catholic Church community since Marty's arrival in 2002. Their love story began with Marty and Celeste’s marriage at St. Pius in 2004, and their children, Jude and Ava, have deepened this connection through their baptisms, first communions, and confirmations at the parish. Marty’s unwavering dedication is evident in his years of volunteering, during which time he coached soccer and basketball for CYO and St. Pius School from 2003 to 2015. His commitment continues today as a member of the Knights of Columbus, a core team member of the That Man is You program, and a contributor to the projection ministry. Celeste embodies selflessness, dedicating three days a week to serve at St. Vincent de Paul, working as a substitute teacher at St. Pius School, and supporting Father Pat with special projects in the church office. Ava shines as a vibrant member of the SPY youth program, serving as an altar server since 2017. Her passion for service is clear in her efforts this past year, where she cleaned, organized, painted, and rewired many school classrooms. In 2024, she undertook the task of power-washing nearly all concrete surfaces on church grounds. Ava also assists Father Pat by ensuring the safety of the grounds on Sunday evenings after church activities. Though Jude now attends Texas A&M in College Station, his legacy at St. Pius remains impactful. He served as an altar server from 2017 to 2024, set the concrete pavers in front of the flagpole, and devoted countless hours assisting Ramon and Zach with various projects last summer. The Williams family exemplifies the true essence of faith, service, and dedication. We are proud to honor them as the Knights of Columbus Council 4298 Family of the Month, celebrating their remarkable contributions to our parish community.

Veronica further serves as a lector during the Spanish Mass, adding depth and reverence to the liturgy. Their two older children, Aiden and Addison, are also integral parts of the Mass, with Aiden showcasing his musical prowess through violin performances in the choir, and Addison dutifully serving at the altar. Tim, Debora, and their children, James and Ashleigh, are incredibly devoted to our church and the community. Their son James is also actively involved as a lector and volunteers to assist the Arborians in maintaining the parish grounds. The Packard Family also provides the "sweet treats" served at Holy Grounds after the weekly 8 am and 10:15 am masses. The multi-generational dedication of the Packard family is truly inspiring and highlights the strong community we have built together.
