KNIGHTS OF THE MONTH

May 2017

Ed Pulvermacher

Ed Pulvermacher was awarded the 2017 Wisconsin Knights of Columbus Medallion Award at the annual Wisconsin Knights of Columbus State Convention. The Medallion is the highest individual award the Knights of Columbus give, with only one Wisconsin Medallion Award given each year. Ed is a 31-year member of the Knights of Columbus 3492 in Richland Center, where he has served as Grand Knight, earning the Complete Council Award and the Star Award. Ed is a charter member of Richland Center Fourth Degree Assembly 3393. In the Richland Center community, Ed has chaired Bingo, Maggie Mae Concerts, coordinated the St. Mary’s Can Recycling Program, was a member of the Last Supper Choir, assisted with Samaritan’s Purse, and served on the Richland Center Park Board. At St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ed has been an active member on the Festival Committee, Male Chorus, Church Choir, Parish Council, and CCD Teacher. Ed has served on St. Mary’s School Education Committee, serving as chair for several years. Ed becomes the fifth member of the Father McKevitt Knights of Columbus to receive the Medallion Award, joining: Vern Homb (1984), Richard Wastlick (1985), Gordon Moore (2014) and Gary Peckham (2016).

FAMILIES OF THE MONTH

October 2018

Bryan and Toni McCarvel

Bryan and Toni McCarvel were named the October Father McKevitt Family of the Month. They earned this distinction from Bryan’s chairing the Knight Night Golf Event and working many council and church programs. Toni is an active member on the Richland School District Board. Brooks is currently in the Air Force Academy. Mitchell is an active student at the Richland Center High School.

Ed and Colleen Pulvermacher

The Father McKevitt, Knights of Columbus Council 3492, is proud to present the August Family of the Month to Ed and Colleen Pulvermacher Family. Ed serves as Community Director of the Council and with his work the council was awarded the Programs Activity Award. Ed serves as the Faithful Navigator for Assembly 3393, cochairs the Annual Father Son Banquet, with the help of his father Jim and son Mike, they have lead the Councils Recycling Program, returning over $10,000 to the Council. Ed is a member of the Father Owen Mitchell 2nd and 3rd Degree Teams. This newly formed 3rd Degree Team is the first new certified 3rd Degree Team in the State for 5 years. Ed can be found most Saturday nights leading the singing at the 5:15 mass. Ed was awarded the At-Large Medallion in the State of Wisconsin in 2017 and Father McKevitt Knight of the Year in 2017. He has served as the Grand Knight, Trustee, Lecture and Secretary. Ed is a member of the Richland County Board of Supervisors. Colleen serves as a grief counselor for AGrace Hospice, a lecture at St. Mary’s and is very active in the PCCW serving as President. Ed and Colleen served as the Councils Pro-Life Couple for over a decade. They are the proud parents of Megan and Mike.

Bennie and Elizabeth Green

Bennie and Elizabeth Green were selected as the Father McKevitt 3492, Family of the Month for July. Bennie serves as the Financial Secretary of the Council and his administrative work (185, 365, 1728, Audits, IRS-990, SO Form) helped point the way for our Council to Earn Star from Supreme in 2017-18. Bennie also represented the Knights of Columbus in the Muscoda Lions Service Club Challenge Canoe Race. He partnered with Nick Hodge of the RC Lions to win the race. Bennie was elected Faithful Captain of Richland Center Assembly 3393 in June and he serves as a member of the Honor Guard. Bennie took over the RC KC Bowling Tournament and made it a money-making event, instead of the breakeven event is was. Elizabeth is a 3rd grade teacher in the Richland Center School District and when she is not teaching 3rd graders she enjoys teaching piano lessons to local youth. Bennie and Elizabeth are the proud parents of William.

Jim and Virginia Mathias

Jim and Virginia Mathias were selected as Father McKevitt 3492 Family of the Month as the couple is celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Jim and Virginia are always volunteering at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Jim can be found at almost all Council and Assembly events helping wherever he is needed. He is commonly found washing dishes at Parish Fish Fries and KC Breakfasts. Jim is also a charter member of Richland Center Assembly 3393 and the Assembly's Honor Guard. He is a great promoter of the Charity Raffle Tickets.

Rick and Lisa Ermilio

Rick and Lisa were selected because of their amazing work running the ID Program. With their leadership the Council hit all time high collection amounts. Rick is also in charge of lining up the concession crews for Bingo, a supervisor of KC Bingo, and is willing to work any and all KC Events.

Calvin and Joyce Sebranek FAmily

Calvin Sebranek was selected as the Father McKevitt 3492 Family of the Month for April for his amazing commitment to his family and especially his wife Joyce. Calvin has been by an incredible inspiration for the community for us to notice his undying love for his wife Joyce over the years of her memory issues. Calvin has taken his wedding vows very seriously, in sickness and in health. Calvin is also active in the KCs, is a member of the Honor Guard in Assembly 3393, serves as the President of the Richland Electric Coop Board. He can also be seen supporting his grandchildren in their different events.

Chad and Michelle Cosgrove

Chad and Michelle were awarded the Father McKevitt 3492 March Family of the Month for their work on the Council Scrapbook, leadership in the Four Seasons of Fun, leadership in the St. Mary's Fish Fry, Assistance in the 2nd and 3rd Degree, co-chair the Council Breakfasts, being a member of the Richland Center Assembly 3393, working hard on promoting Charity Raffle Tickets, Sponsoring of the ID Program, and being active in their children's education at St. Mary's Catholic School.

Barry Roghair

Barry and Jan Roghair were was named the Father McKevitt Family of the Month in February for his honor of being award the Fire Fighter of the Year in Richland County and Jan's support of his firefighting, as well has his work on the State Bowling Tournament and the Richland Center Bowling Tournament.

Terry and Jenna Sebranek

Terry and Jenna Sebranek Family, were awarded the Family of the Month for their recent addition of twins and Terry’s work on the Christmas Poster and Knowledge Contest.

Bill and Colleen Schroeder

Bill and Colleen were selected as Family of the Month for their dedication to the Council and the Church. Bill has served as Grand Knight for the past two years. He also serves as a Breakfast Chair, is St. Nicholas for the Christmas Program, Chairs the Council Picnic, and assists is many council activities. Colleen serves as a leader in the St. Mary's Script Program as well as works many PCCW activities.

Joe Simon

Joe was awarded the Family of the Month for his participation with different activities, from leading the rosary at mass, to unlocking the church, to participating in many KC functions. Joe is a great catholic man to emulate.

Richard and Betty Wastlick were named the Family of the Month for their work with Wheels of Time and Scrip.

John and Joyce Tennant

John and Joyce Tennant were awarded the Knight of the Month for their work with GRACE. The council raised over $10,000 for GRACE in 2017.

Jim and Patty were named the Family of the Month for his work on the Recycling Program.

Gary and Elizabeth Peckham

Gary and Elizabeth Peckham have to recognized by the Diocese of La Crosse for their work with vocations. They will be Awarded the Spirt of Light Award.

Bill and Colleen Schroeder Family

Bill and Colleen were selected as Family of the Month for their dedication to the Council and the Church. Bill has served as Grand Knight for the past two years. He also serves as a Breakfast Chair, is St. Nicholas for the Christmas Program, Chairs the Council Picnic, and assists is many council activities. Colleen serves as a leader in the St. Mary's Script Program as well as works many PCCW activities.

Rick Ermilio Family

The Rick Ermilio Family was awarded the May Family of the Month for all of Rick's work on the council Assisting Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Drive. Rick's leadership and dedication lead to the council hitting a record for the amount of money raised.

April 2017

Jim Pulvermacher

Jim was awarded the Family of the Month for his work with the council recycling project. Over $700 was given to the council from a few months of Jim's efforts in recycling cans everyday.

Mark Jelinek

Mark was awarded the Knight of the Month for his efforts in putting on the 65th Anniversary Dinner for the council.

Bennie received the Family of the Month for his work with the RC Bowling Project, Knowledge Contest and the Council Pancake Breakfasts.

Rick Ermilio

Rick was awarded the Family of the Month for his work on the council bowling tournament. Rick and Bennie Green worked together to have a successful event which brought many Knights together to have a nice day and raise some money for council projects.

December 2016

Bob Schmitz

Bob was selected for his dedication in keeping the church and school grounds safe for everyone during the winter. Bob plows the parking lot and sidewalks around St. Mary's Church and School after every snowfall. He understands the importance of people being able to get to church and the children having a place to play all year long. Bob can always be found working in the kitchen at the councils pancake breakfasts.

The Bauer family received the Family of the Month for their work with the KC Breakfasts.

October 2016

Shea Mueller

Shea was selected as the Family of the Month for his work at the Redneck Rally. She worked at the grills the entire 13 hours of the event. He has volunteered to lead the charge for the 5 yearly council breakfasts. Shea serves as our council Secretary and Assembly 3393 Commander. He is a member of the church council for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

John and Joyce Tennant

John and Joyce have chaired the Council GRACE project since its beginning. In 2016 the Council team raised $11,117.68.

August 2016

Ed and Colleen Pulvermacher

Ed has been a vital member of Council 3492. He has served as GK, DGK, Trustee, Scribe in Assembly 3393, and many other leadership positions. He has served as our council's recycling coordinator for 7 years. Through his efforts the council has deposited over $10,000 through recycling. He currently serves as the MC for the Father Son Banquet and without Ed's help the St. Mary's Parish Festival would not happen. Ed has been active in the musical ministry at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Steve and Jennifer Bauer

The Steve and Jenny Bauer Family was selected for the Family of the Money because of entire families dedication to St. Marys. Steve completed his 2 year term as the Faithful Navigator of 3393. He has also stepped up to help take over the council breakfasts. Jennifer has worked with the School and HASA. The couple has two daughters who are both involved in the church and school.

Rick Ermilio

Rick Ermilio was selected for the Family of the Month for all of his work with the RC ID Program. The Tootsie Roll drive set another record collection in 2016.

May 2016

Brian and Miranda Parker Family

Brian is the Deputy Grand Knight for the Council 3492 and Admiral for Assembly 3393. He serves as the raffle coordinator. He sets up the State Bowling trip and Council Baseball Trip. He works all the fish fries which raise $15,000 for the catholic school. He was a delegate for the Wisconsin State Convention. He serves as a softball and soccer coach for his daughters teams. He is a member of the 4th degree Honor Guard. Brian works all council events including the festival and tractor pulls.

Ryan and Julie were awarded the Family of the Month for Ryan's work as the District Deputy for District 26, Fish Fry Coordinator, and Festival Coordinator.

Gary and Elizabeth Peckham received the Family of the Year as Gary was awarded the Wisconsin Knights of Columbus Medallion Award.

Mark Jelinek

Mark was present the Family of the Month for his work on the councils Medallion and Family of the Year Applications for the Wisconsin Knights of Columbus State Convention.

January 2016

Bennie Green

Bennie was selected as the Family of the Month in January as has earned the Silver Armor Award, is chairing our councils Knowledge Contest, is planning on taking his Fourth Degree in February and headed the councils first bowling tournament. He was called in on short notice to run the bowling tournament which was a joint venture between Councils 3450 (Spring Green) and 3492 (Richland Center). 80 bowlers participated in 120 series. He ran the registration, raffles, as well as kept scores.

Gary was awarded the Family of the Month for December for his work with the Bowling Program and his work as the councils Food Pantry Coordinator.

Steve Bauer was awarded the Family of the Month for his work with the Four Seasons of Fun and for his service as the Faithful Navigator.

Richard and Betty Wastlick

Richard and Betty were awarded the Family of the Month for their work at the Wheels of Time Foodstand as well as Richard's work in presenting the Knight of the Year at the annual Father Son Banquet.

September 2015

Gordon Moore

Gordon Moore was awarded the Family of the Month as he was recently named Richland Center High School Alumni of the Year. He has been the treasurer of the St. Mary's Cemetery for over 20 years, repairs articles at St. Mary's Catholic School for free whenever they call, serves of the St. Mary's Building and Ground Committee, is a daily communicant, and has served in several offices with in the council. Gordon serves a general go to guy if you ever need anything done but is incredibly humble and won't talk anything he does for others even if he is asked.

John and Joyce Tennant

John and Joyce Tennant were awarded Family of the Month for all of their work with the Walk with GRACE. The KC Connection Team was able to raise over $10,000 and the total fundraising total was over $263,000 for the year.

Kaleb has served as Grand Knight for council 3492 for the past 2 years. In his time the council has had positive membership growth and the council has stayed very active in the church, school and community.

Casey Mueller

Casey joined the council in 2014 and has become an active member. He is working with Richard Wastlick to learn how to run the 4 breakfasts the Council hosts through out the year.

Rick and Lisa coordinated the Helping with Intellectual Disabilities Campaign. Council 3492 set a new personal best for the program raising $4500.

Monsignor was awarded Family of the Month for all of his work setting up the Sportsman's Extravaganza. The event serves as a large fundraiser for the church and school.

The Kevin and Erin Jelinek Family received the award for their work in rebuilding the display areas at the Richland County Fairgrounds. The new displays allowed more people to walk through the displays. They also allow wheelchairs to get next to every display.

These four Sir Knights headed up the Four Seasons of Fun Project. The project serves as a great opportunity for the community to get together and as a fund raiser for many different charities.
