KNIGHTS OF THE MONTH

May 2026

Martin “Buzz” Dombrowski

He is our newest Brother. During this year, Buzz has been one of our most active Knights, serving regularly for many months before he was finally exemplified May 26. We saw him working away at Lenten Fish Fries and other events long before his exemplification.

April 2026

Steve Hubbard

Steve, our twice-serving PGK, is our constant administrative liaison with the Parish. During April, he has been instrumental in recruiting Council members to serve as officers and directors for the coming fraternal year. And again, he completed his annual identification of local students for receipt of Council awards that he presented at the schools in May. At our council meetings, we count on him for straight facts and wise counsel. During April and always, he is cantor at our Sunday 9:00 AM Mass.

May 2026

Deacon Jim and Anita Munno

Deacon Jim is one of our Council Assistant Chaplains, regularly attending our monthly membership meetings, bringing greetings and direction from the pastor, and is active in OCIA. This month, he celebrated his 9th anniversary as a deacon. Anita is a sacristan and EMOHC, and is active in the Ladies of Charity

April 2026

Patrick & Yetunde Onyekweli

Patrick and Yetunde are long-time active parishioners at St. Mary of the Mills. Both serve as ushers at Masses when needed and are active leaders in the parish African Community. He is a Past Grand Knight (PGK) and Honorary Member (HM). He leads our council Little Sisters of the Poor donations drop-off collection, which also serves as a regional drop-off event each month. He regularly volunteers as an usher at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in DC. Yetunde volunteers with Elizabeth House (where she is the secretary), is a member of the Legion of Mary, a lector for Mass, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMOHC), an Arimathean, volunteer church wedding coordinator, faith formation educator, and member of the Ladies of Charity. She also serves as an EMOHC at the National Shrine. This faith-filled couple are blessed to have three adult children (Nonny, Tobi, & Tito) and one grandson. Fortuitously, they were also selected in Maryland Family of the Month by Supreme in a random drawing. Congratulations to our April Family of the Month, the Onyekwelis!

Geoff & Helen Griffith family

Brother Geoff and Lady Helen are active parishioners. He ushers; she is lectors and takes Holy Communion to the homebound. Their band plays free at church events (e.g., picnic) and community events, and they support many various pro-life events.

Ron and Joni Chrismer

Ron is council Chancellor, Director of Faith Programs, and leads our Laurel Pregnancy Center baby bottle campaign. He and Joni are active in the parish St. Callistus Society; he is the leader. Both serve the homeless and addicted in the community.

January 2026

Hans and Marie Raven family

They all have been supporting the the Music Ministry as singers and musicians for 10 years. Hans is an aerospace engineer and also volunteers to operate the church sound system. Marie is a lector and Eucharist Minister. St Mary’s is truly blessed by the work and support of the Raven Family.

Kwame and Yvette Hemeng

They are involved in various Church and Community programs and activities - Religious Education Teacher, African Catholic Association leadership, Led Bazaar Committee, Member of Church Parish Council, and their children were Altar Servers.

Anthony & Jackie DeBella family

Both active in parish music ministry; she is a cantor. Sons of Italy members. She volunteers in kids' schools, PTA, SECAC; community orchestra. Daughter: Girl Scouts, 4-H, school drama, instrumental music; frequent community service. Son: Honor Roll.
