2017-2018 Coats for Kids
Council 11319 generously donates to Coats for Kids, so that children will have warm coats in the winter
2017-2018 happy recipient of a new warm winter coat
The fine gentlemen of the St. Max (West Chester, PA) Knights of Columbus Council #11319 had personally contributed $3920.65 toward the purchase of 192 Coats for Kids. Lori Miller our parish office manager just updated me on the distribution which is now:
• 111 coats to Drexel Neumann Academy in Chester
• 18 coats to Chester County Parolee Services for children of paroled Moms
• 6 coats to the Catholic parish in Coatesville.
• 9 coats to the St Agnes Day Room
· 48 coats to Chester County Women’s Services
The final batch of four dozen coats was given to the Chester County Women’s Services who serve needy Moms and encourage them to choose life for their unborn babies. Jim Thomson, our worthy Financial Secretary placed this last coat order with Supreme the attached picture(s) depicts the delivery by GK Andy Garrity to Mauriza of CCWS January 25th.
Special thanks to PGK Bob Borowski for leading this effort again on behalf of Council 11319. As a result of Bob’s leadership and consistent communication, this year’s drive doubled the previous record of 8 dozen coats! Bob reminded us all that it was our council’s generosity and Supreme’s organization who made the coats appear, and it was Lori Miller, Roberta Dainton and Lisa Bice that found the kids who needed those coats. The parents of these kids expressed appreciation of our Knights and St. Max Parish…..it’s an honor to be part of noble efforts such as this one.
