Super Bowl 2015 BBQ - Holy Smokers

As one of our annual fund-raisers for Charity, the Holy Smokers cooked 680 pounds of brisket, ribs, sausage, and chicken for sale to parishioners for Super Bowl 2015. This is a big production that began Friday afternoon with preparation of the meat, continued all day Saturday, and wrapped up Sunday after 12:30 Mass.

 

So it begins. Prep: Friday afternoon and evening

Time passes... early Saturday morning as the mighty Holy Smokers arrive with their infernal cooking machines.

Getting ready to take the brisket off at the halfway point for slicing.

After slicing and wrapping, the brisket goes back on for another 6 hours of slow cooking.

It's all a little too much for Mike.

As the brisket continues to cook, the ribs go on.

Sunday morning: parishioners pick up their orders.
