FOOD FOR FAMILIES. Supporting Food Banks in Our Community.
Council 13049 has provided financial and volunteer support to the Rockland Help Centre and the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre for many years.
Financial Secretary Steve Phillips presents a cheque for $100 on behalf of Council 13049, to the Rockland Help Centre to support the Food Bank serving Clarence-Rockland, on April 8th 2021. Food Bank volunteers Colette Cowley and Gisèle Leclair gratefully accept the donation.
Deputy Grand Knight Tim Halderson presents a cheque for $100 on behalf of Council 13049, to the Orleans-Cumberland Community Resource Centre to support their Food Bank program, on April 6th 2021. Carole Soros, Assistant Food Bank Worker, gratefully accepts the donation.
During the coronavirus pandemic Council 13049 is supporting the Knights of Columbus “Leave No Neighbour Behind” program. On May 7th 2020 Grand Knight Pat Callaghan attended the Rockland Help Centre and presented the Vice-President Nicole Gaul, with a cheque for $1,000 from our Council. These funds will allow the Rockland Help Centre to procure the exact items needed by it's clients.
The Knights of Columbus (St. Edith Stein Council #13049) collected over 600 pounds of non-perishable food items during a food drive they held on behalf of the Rockland Help Cente, in July 2018. In addition the council made a $500 donation to assist the Centre in purchasing necessary grocery items during the summer months, when inventory levels are low. Brothers Tony Surette and Harold Rideout present the cash donation to Tom Gaul, a representative volunteer at the Rockland Help Centre.
