Education: St. Anastasia Catholic School

St. Annie's is more than a school, it is a loving, family community where children bloom!  We have been providing a quality education to students since 1926 in a nurturing, caring environment.  Our building speaks of the impressive tradition of Catholic Schools, and our dedicated teachers and staff support a curriculum to challenge our students intellectually and academically.

For nearly 90 years, St. Anastasia has part of the dynamic network of the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools, which are second to none.  This school system is the largest school system in the country, with  exceptionally high graduation rates and college attendance rates.  Ninety-eight percent of Catholic high school students graduate from high school and ninety-five percent go on to attend college after graduation:  The journey to success begins here.

St. Anastasia Parish

St. Anastasia has been an important part of the Waukegan community since 1926.  We are located on the northeast side of Waukegan, less than a mile from beautiful Lake Michigan. We have 850 parishioner families and 218 students at the school.

Our parishioners serve the church, school and parish through many of our ministries such as Youth Ministry, Family-School Association, Holy Name Society, Friends of the Parish, Women’s Club, Hispanic Ministry, Knights of Columbus, RCIA, Bible Study groups in English and Spanish, and Shawl Ministry.

Education: Most Blessed Trinity Academy

Most Blessed Trinity Academy is a Pre-K through eighth grade elementary and middle school providing an Illinois State approved full day Pre-Kindergarten program for three and four year old children. We also take great pride in the fact that virtually all of our eighth grade students go on to be accepted at the high school of their choice.

Our students enjoy an 18 to 1 student/faculty ratio which helps us to provide the individual attention often needed so that all students achieve their highest potential.  We have a large number of extra-curricular activities and athletic programs as well as a parent organization which provides even MORE opportunities for our families to be active participants in their children's education.

At MBTA we have been blessed by the great diversity in our area which creates an ideal environment for our students to grow and learn from each other, as well as from our experienced and caring faculty. We invite you to enjoy our website and may God bless you and your family.

St. Dismas Parish

St. Dismas Parish was founded in the northwest corner of Waukegan in 1963 by Rev. Patrick Hunter, and named after the good thief crucified with Christ. Although the physical plant is small and compact, the parishioners are big-hearted, friendly, and welcoming. Our parishioners come from many different areas, and find here a place of faith and prayer, hospitality and service. We are a multi-cultural parish that is concerned to recognize and celebrate our diversity. We welcome all, and will do everything we can to insure that everyone finds a home at St. Dismas.

Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids

With many families with young children experiencing difficult economic times, the Knights of Columbus instituted the ‘Coats for Kids’ program in 2009. This is an opportunity for councils to become involved in their communities by providing warm winter coats to the children in need there.

Safe Environment Program

Recognizing that children are a precious gift, Knights of Columbus has always made their safety and well-being the highest priority in the Order’s programs and activities.  In partnership with Praesidium, an organization that has worked to provide knowledge and tools that safeguard against sexual predators for more than 20 years, the Order continues its strong tradition of maintaining the highest standards regarding the protection of young people.
