From the Desk of the Grand Knight:

Welcome to Knights of Columbus Council 92! We are honored to be housed at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the heart of the Diocese of Manchester. We also hold the distinction of being the oldest council in New Hampshire, serving our community since 1894.

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by Blessed Fr. Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut, as a fraternal benefit society rooted in the core values of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity. Since then, the Knights of Columbus has grown into the largest Catholic lay organization in the world, with 2.2 million members in over 17,000 councils across 17 countries.

Council 92 strives to be active in the areas of Faith, Family, Community, and Life. Over the past several years, Council 92 has been a strong supporter of pro-life organizations in Manchester and throughout the state, including financial support for Penacook Pregnancy Center. In addition, Council 92 helps children in need through our Coats for Kids program, donating dozens of coats to families in need.

In the past year, Council 92 embarked on our largest project yet, collecting over $15,000 worth of goods for the people of Jamaica following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa. We partnered with Mustard Seed Communities to ensure that the donations we collected were distributed directly to those in greatest need. This effort was recognized by both the New Hampshire State Council and the Supreme Council in Columbia magazine. Each year, Knights from Council 92 participate in dozens of events like these, from our famous St. Patrick’s Dinner to our monthly Coffee and Donuts for our parish.

Our faith is one of the greatest gifts we have been given, and we continue to strengthen it through Cor. Cor is more than just a men’s group; it exists to help men become missionary disciples of Christ through prayer, formation, and fraternity. Cor has been a major factor in our growth over the past year.

If any of this has sparked your interest, please reach out to us! We meet almost every Monday, with our Officer Planning Meetings on the first Monday at 7:00 p.m., Cor on the second Monday at 7:00 p.m., and our General Business Meeting on the third Monday at 7:30 p.m., with the Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m. All meetings take place at Bishop Bradley Hall at St. Joseph’s Cathedral.

Our council is always open to new members; we have welcomed over 25 in the past year alone. If you would like to join us, please reach out.

Vivat Jesus!
