Thank you - Blood Drive - January 10
We thank all of you Brother Knights, your families, our fellow Seton Lake Ridge Parishioners, and those from area churches and in Lake Ridge area who donated blood this past Saturday, January 10th at the KofC 8183 – INOVA Blood Donor Services Blood Drive held over at Saint Matthew’s Lutheran Church. Despite the 15 no-shows and the 10 cancelations (we understand, this is flu season) and thanks to the 12 walk-ins, a quantity of 66 units of blood were collected.
The next blood drive will take place on Saturday , March 14 in upper Seton Hall, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with 44 of the 105 time slots still available. The link to the sign-up through INOVA, is here: https://www.inovabloodsaves.
Special thanks to PGK Kevin Tamai, who organizes these Blood Drives, not only here at Seton Lake Ridge, but coordinates with the other two participating churches, Saint Matthew’s and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, both in Lake Ridge. In addition, we thank Brother Clyde Watts, who is there each and every time to assist in the set-ups and tear downs..
The Children's Christmas Party, held on Sunday, December 14, was led by PGK Kevin Tamai and his wife Jane, with approximately 80 children and 80 parents / grandparents and siblings in attendance.
We thank Kevin and Jane and all who assisted to make this a huge success. Tasks included “transforming” Seton Hall, beginning at 12:00 noon, from the OCIA setting into Santa’s Workshop, placing out Christmas Trees, all the Blow-ups, setting out the games and preparing the food. A special thanks to Dan Garrigan for his role in playing Santa Clause, and our Elf Team led by Jane and assisted by Cecelia and Mary McCloskey. We thank our Worthy Chaplain Father Merkle for leading us off in prayer. This could not have been done with the help of you Brother Knights: DGK Steve Amato, Vic Bako, Michael Flood, Jel Garcia, Tom Genova, PGK Thomas McCloseky and Family (Mary, Andrew, Peter, Luke and Cecelia), Andrew McGrail, Daniel McGrail, Al Nessel, Kevin Smith, Peter and Patty Spear, Tom Stanton, Sean Ward, PGK Ted Zagrobelny and PGK Paul Zerkow.
