Thank you - 2nd Saturday Rosary, August 8

There were 20 of us who showed up on Saturday, August 8, following the 9:00 a.m. Mass to pray the Rosary for the Unborn.  We thank GK Steve Amato, Luis Ferrufino, John Loftus, Jim Gibson, Dan Garrigan, and Charles Newton III.

Thank you - Our Annual Yard Sale, August 1-2

A very big thank you to the 43 Knights (14.7 percent of the total Council membership) and their 19 family members/friends who logged-in approximately 710 man-hours over the two-week period to make our Annual Yard Sale a huge success. The two week collection and set-up period accounted for 42% of the hours with 58% going to the two-day sale and the clean-up. The biggest winners were the 502 parishioners and neighbors, who shopped on Saturday and the 182, who came in on Sunday, despite the rains which began during the 10:45 am Mass. The people were lined up beginning at 5:55 am on Saturday morning with 41 in line, before the doors opened. We thank those who assisted and demonstrated outstanding Catholic Teamwork:

GK Steve and Mary Amato, Bob Anastasio, Greg & Anna Beck and Family, Jason Boffetti, Mark and Claudia Brown, Jeff Carrera, Ana Corton, Chris Coxe, Mary Day and her sister Rose, Brad Engborg, Brian Evans, Luis Ferrufino, Jel Garcia, Tom Genova, Jim and Susan Gibson, Sam Grannis, Dwayne Griese, Joseph Hocice Hadj-ali, Frank Jozsa, Jimmy Kettl, Margie Kettl, PGK Cliff Krisak, Les Krogh, Janelle Leigh, Eric Link, DGK Raleigh and Stacey Lopez, PGK Thomas and Luke McCloskey, Andrew McGrail, Daniel McGrail, Kathleen Meehan, Rich Miserendino, David Morales, Philip Morales, Jess Moreno, Al Nessel, PGK Joe Pevarnik, Dave and Rita Poppert, John Puglisi, Curry Robert, Tom Shank, Joe Schu, PGK Steve Smith, PGK Kevin Tamai, Ralph Tuccillo, Sean and Lesley Ward, Clyde Watts, David White, PGK Ted Zagrobelny, PGK Paul Zerkow and Bob Zimmerman.

Special shout-outs to the following who went above and beyond:

  • PGK Kevin Tamai for once again, loaning us the use of the clothes hangers. This year it was ten heavy duty rolling Z-Racks, five single rolling racks, the two 14-foot-long stationary racks and the ten signposts. After logging in 14 hours on Saturday at the Sale, Kevin logged in three more hours, driving to his place of work for a larger van so we could haul back the loaned racks and signposts on Sunday.
  • Father Bashista and Parish Staff for all their support and for loaning us the use of Seton Hall for two weeks.
Kathleen Meehan who once again, sorted and priced the jewelry during the collection phase, and manned the “jewelry room” all day Saturday and all day Sunday.
  • Ana Corton for her diligent sorting efforts during the collection phase and all day Friday July 31st, and for being there during the entire time of both days of the sale, sorting items and replenishing table-tops at the same time, assisting customers.
  • Claudia Brown for sorting efforts during the collection phase.
  • Bob Zimmerman for pricing the collectable items during the collecting phase and to Mary Amato for manning the collectable area during both days of the sales, plus replenishing table-tops at the same time also assisting customers.
  • Frank Jozsa, who once again, took time off from his business, on Monday, to drive over his 15-foot box truck, along with a crew of two, to load up the unsold items and drive them out to the House of Mercy in Manassas. This was very considerate of Frank to do, as his brother Les, passed away on Sunday night.
  • Paul Zerkow and Clyde Watts who were selling the White House Historical Society Ornaments in the lobby of Seton Hall, whose proceeds fund the Seminarians.
  • Cashiers PGK Jeff Carrera, PGK Joe Pevarnik and PGK Kevin Tamai for their customer relations skills at the check out lines.
  • Joe Pevarnik who, for the fifth straight year, has organized the sale.

As in the past, we will be scheduling an Appreciation Dinner, sometime in September or early October.

We will share the amount of revenue from the sales, once all the Square Credit Charge reports (credit card fee report) is completed.

The money raised will fund programs associated with Faith, Family, Life, and Youth, as well as additional charitable causes in the area.

Thank you - The Cleaning of Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall, Sat, June 20

We thank PGK, PFN Phil Kennedy for once again organizing this Event through the National Park Service and the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund.  Joining Phil (a Veteran) on Saturday were our State Deputy Trey Hall, Ralph Tuccillo (a Veteran) PGK Paul Zerkow (a Veteran), PGK Kevin Tamai, and GK Joe Pevarnik.  We were joined by members of the Monsignor Francis Bradicana Assembly 2996 in Burke, Virginia.  Separately, there were two other groups, Xavier Catholic High School in New York City and a Boy Scout Troop from Dale City, who assisted as well.

Shown here are PGK Kevin Tamai, Ralph Tuccillo, PGK Paul Zerkow and State Deputy Trey Hall
