Fr. Boecker Council #6090

I want you to join the Knights of Columbus!
“the fraternal spirit inculcated by Father Michael McGivney and the first Knights of Columbus continues to be fruitful in the numerous charitable activities of the local councils, which, while meeting the needs of individuals, also build up communities in solidarity and concern for the common good.” - Pope Francis

Andrew Cole was awarded the Knight of the Month for December by GK Frank Birner. He is a dependable usher for the 8:30 am mass at St. Pius and participates in Honor Guards.

Deputy Grand Knight Steve Wallace presented Mark Chiodo with the January award after his hard work helping on blood drives, Poker Knights and wherever needed.

Council #6090 formed an honor guard in February for Corporate Communion at St. Pius X. Reflecting the interest in the 4th Degree generated by District Deputy Dick Clish, PGK Marco Incrocci and Grand Knight Frank Birner, a large contingent of 11 Knights led the procession down the aisle.

Northern Illinois District held a 4th Degree Exemplification on Feb. 10 in Bradley and 66 men were initiated, including five from Council #6090. The host assembly was Bishop McNamara #202.

PGK D Thurman was on hand to lend support to #6090 members participating in the 4th Degree ceremony. Terry Bannon (top left), Tom Blazek, Carmie Ciavarella, and Tom and Matt D’Alessandro all took the final step of Knighthood.

DGK Steve Wallace and GK Frank Birner handed out checks following #6090’s successful ID Drive last fall. Carlos Marroquin (Right) accepts the gift on behalf of NEDSRA. Renata Cichowicz (Left) represented the Joliet Diocese.

Abraham Rodriguez (left) and Stephen Bannon were approved by the members of Council #6090 and welcomed to the Knights at the January business meeting.

Colten Maertens-Pizzo was accepted as a 3rd degree Knight at the February Business Meeting. Other new members of #6090 this year are Denny Soger and Joe Ciapponi.

While the average age of Father Boecker Council members is 61, that figure is beginning to drop. Tim Carroll (left), Chris Bauer and Stephen Bannon are the new generation of Knights, bringing a breath of fresh air and looking forward to serving their parish family and neighboring community.

Council #6090 joined forces with #11027 from Christ the King to stage the first round of the free-throw shooting contest at St. Pius.
