20th Annual Ellicott City Labor Day
5K & 10K
 
Registration is now open for the 20th Annual Ellicott City Labor Day 5K & 10K scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. The 10K is a road race and the 5K is a road/trail (dirt/grass) combo. Register for only $25 per person or $55 for a family of 4 through July 31st and Performance T-shirts guaranteed for all registered participants through Aug. 13th as well.
 
 
Lots of activities are planned including music, a moonbounce, and random prize giveaways. We will have chip timing and both the 10K course and the 5K course are certified through USATF.org and they are available on our website (www.kc11898.com).
 
We are also awarding $500 in cash prizes for the top 2 males/females in both races and noncash awards to the top 2 in 7 age group categories (male/female) in both races. That’s 56 age group awards!

Faith: Ryan Dworski

Eucharistic Adoration, Sun, noon-7pm in the Children’s Chapel while the Stone Chapel is closed for repairs. Knights rotate covering 12-1, 1-2, and 4-5. POC:Ed Draminski, edbethdram@verizon.net to help.

 

Men of Virtue resumes in May, 2nd Sat, 8-10am, St. Louis Church and Social Hall. 8am mass followed by breakfast, talk based on Into the Breach (available online). 5/13, 6/10

 

Saint Joseph’s devotion, normally 1st Wednesday, 7-8pm. St. Louis chapel. Eucharistic Adoration and talk. 6/7, 7/5. In church while the chapel is closed.

 

Catechism in a year with Fr. Mike Schmitz (podcast). Join parish priests monthly after the 11am mass at Saint Louis on Hospitality Sundays for a discussion.

 

Sunday Knight Bible study, via zoom, Sunday evenings, 7-9pm. Just started the Book  Sirach on 3/19. Contact Mike Leumas, mjleumas@verizon.net.

 

Eucharistic Procession and party to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi on Saturday 6/10. Procession from Saint Francis to Saint Louis following the 5pm mass at Saint Francis. Post procession outdoor party, family friendly, 7pm-9pm at Saint Louis. Knights will be grilling.

Stay tuned for the Clarksville Picnic (June 24). White Elephant setup/drop-off beings 6/10, food truck security overnight 6/22-24, lots of help needed. Stay tuned.

 

The Hospitality Committee: Charles Roswell, charlesrosewelljr@verizon.net can use help.These men cook and/or serve food at many events, from monthly meetings to the Lenten fish frys. We are looking for more men to help take on more of this workload. Join the roster of people he draws volunteers from! 

 

Note that our Crab Raffle to support seminarians will open  6/25, the day after the Clarksville Picnic with the drawing in late July (projected July 24).
