New Prospects/Members: What do the Knights of Columbus do?
So you'd like to become a member in the Knights of Columbus? GREAT! We'd love to have you as we have a lot on our plate, did you know we donate, prepare and serve meals at Randy Sam's on a recurring basis, we Sponsor and Host a weekly "Special Needs Dance" every Thursday night @ no charge for over 50+ years, we Sponsor and Host a CHRISTmas Party (pizza and gifts) for our Special Needs patrons. We support Special Olympics with volunteers and financial support, We provide financial support and volunteers to Prison Ministries at the Federal Corrections Institute (FCI). We provide financial support to Catholic Rosary makers, we provide financial support to Seminarians studying to become Priests, we support all our Priests, Seminarians, and Deacons with a CHRISTmas stipend, we provide financial support to Carmelite Sisters (future nuns), We provide three $1000. scholarships to a first-generation High School Graduate, a High School Graduate, and a Continuing Education Student at the Graduation Breakfast honoring all High School and College Graduates. We provide funds to the Knights of Columbus State Charity effort and have met or exceeded our goal over the last 32 years! We provide financial support to the St Vincent DePaul Program which offers free prescriptions, diapers, and other family support. We contribute to the Vietnam Veterans Chuck Wagon event annually. We contribute to Tunnels to Towers annually, we purchase and provide wheelchairs to handicap persons in need. We make annual donations to the 4 States Youth Flyers for children's exposure to Aviation as a possible career field. We donate to Saint Jude Children's Hospital annually. We provide the Easter Egg Hunt for the Parish, We support the Gabriel Project & Rachel Project annually. We Chose Life and we support First Choice (we donated a mobile ultrasound to the Texarkana Office). We sponsor fund raisers such as "Keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas" car magnets, "He has Risen" Easter car magnets, as well as several social activities annually (St Patrick's Day Social, Lenten Fish Fry, Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival, Cinco De Mayo festival, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and other events as requested by our Pastor.

During the renovation of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish Hall, all Special Needs Dances (SND) will be held at the Elks Lodge on the Arkansas side of town. (Garland St.) Please check for the available dates below.
- KC Dance Schedule
MAR 20th THUR Knights arrive 6:00 PM for Setup of chairs, tables, sound system, and refreshments area (Non-Alcoholic Bar). Dance is 7:00'9:00 PM, Knights will need to stay to “reset” the hall and clean up.
MARCH ACTIVITIES
- FRIDAY FISH FRY FOR LENT /Room 17 in Parish Hall
- MAR 7, 14, 21, 28, APR 4, 11 FRIDAY FISH FRY prior to Stations of the Cross. Knights and Catholic Daughters will prepare and serve a Fried Fish Meal for $10.00 per person. 3:00PM is start time to thaw fish, clean and prepare. Meal is served at 6:00 PM followed by Stations of the Cross @ 7:00 PM. WE DO NEED SOME KNIGHTS TO HELP CLEAN UP Room 17 and the KC House after the event
- MAR 15 SATURDAY ST PATRICK DAY PARTYST Patrick Day Dinner/ Room 17 in Parish Hall starting at 6:30 PM. Meal includes all Beer & Wine, Corn Beef, Stew, potatoes and sides for $20.00 per person. Music for Dancing will be available.

PERMANENT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Knights of Columbus meetings occur on the 2 & 3, MONDAY, Event begins at 7:00 PM
- 2nd Monday = Business Meeting (Charity, Unity, Fraternity), All KofC members are welcome to attend. This is called to order by the Grand Knight and all Council Officers and members at large are expected to attend. A rosary is said at 6:30 for all knights if they choose to attend.
- 3rd Monday = The Fourth Degree (Patriotism) Business Meeting. All 4th Degree, Sir Knights, are welcome to attend. This is called to order by the Faithful Navigator and all Assembly Officers and Sir Knights are expected to attend.
- Social schedule as determined by Grand Knight No regularly scheduled Pot Luck Social will occur. Socials will be announced and scheduled along with new member initiations or as determined by the Grand Knight A meat is prepared and members provide a "pot luck" side dish, salad, or desert to share with fellow members. New Member Prospects, Families, and all Knights are invited.
