On the 15th of August at 2:00 pm., we presented 90 Wheelchairs to the Veterans Medical Center for use in their facility. In attendance was Virginia State Deputy Pat Rowland and Father Kevin Segerblom, who blessed the wheelchairs.

Salem Council provided 14 wheelchairs to the Virginia Veterans Care Center here in Salem,VA. Pictured is Director of Rehab Ya'Sheena Nichols, LPTA/DOR , GK Dave Wyble ,SK Houston Doug Jesse, and a worker from the center helping unload the wheelchairs. We also delivered 4 wheelchairs to Hope Tree Family Service in Salem.
140 wheelchairs arrived by truck today and were unloaded by a handful of Knights in 90+ degree weather. They are currently being stored with preparations of the bulk being donated to the Salem Veterans Hospital at a Ceremonial date not yet announced. Others will be provided to Councils that donated and to persons in need. Our sincere gratitude and thanks for Brothers Jerry Ferguson, Jeff Sobataka, Mark McGuire, and Houston Doug Jessee for their time and energy in unloading this valuable cargo for our community.
