Wilfredo V Rimando, 69, passed away in Norfolk, VA on Thursday, September 14th, 2017. Willie was born in Burgos, Isabela, Philippines on December 16th, 1947. He has served in the Philippine government for many years in the Dept of Public Works and Highways and as a Division Chief-Labor Relations Department of Labor And Employment in the Philippines. He has been very active as a Grand Knight and a President of the Holy Name Society and some civic organizations.
He moved to the United States to live with his wife and children. He worked as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense / Navy thru MWR for many years.
He was a strong, loving, and devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his mother Filomena Vallente Rimando; 7 siblings - Romeo (Annie), Merly (Tamboy), Boy (Beth), Efren (Edna), Ely (Lito), Ruben (Josie), Pitz. (Marlyn); his loving wife of 41 years, Lita A Rimando; 6 children - Tina, Ester, Jay (Rochelle), Allan, Armie, Lourdes; and 3 grandchildren Aleighn, Francheska and Jon. In honor of Willie V Rimando, a visitation will be held on Friday, September 22nd from 5:00- 8:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:00am at St Pius X Catholic Church in Norfolk, VA with a burial immediately following at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
