Reginald J. Chavis Sr. NORFOLK - Reginald Jerome Chavis Sr., 56, of the 900 block of Oaklawn Ave., passed away Dec. 20, 2008. He was born Jan. 26, 1952, in Norfolk where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and Tidewater Community College. He served in the U.S. Army and received a honorable discharge. He was a member the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception and the Knights of Columbus. Reginald retired from Norfolk Public Schools after 18 years of service as lead security. He was predeceased by his father, John W. Wilkins. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Patsy Darlene Chavis; three sons, Reginald J. Chavis Jr., Christen B. Chavis and Zachery D. Chavis; his mother, Deloris C. Goodall; four sisters, Brenda Lane, Almeta Brown, Darceline Barnes and Selina Chavis; one brother, Dalious Rollins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 232 Chapel St. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk.
