Gene Gardner VIRGINIA BEACH - Gene Gardner, 72, of the 3500 block of Good Hope Road, passed away May 19, 2010. He was born July 27, 1937 to the late Lena Gardner Johnson and Mack Gardner in Jacksonville, Fla. Gene was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Norfolk Council No. 367. He was a retired long distance truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Mary J. Gardner; three daughters; one stepdaughter; six sons; two stepsons; three brothers; one sister; 25 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Friday in Basilica of St. Mary, 232 Chapel St. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Ave. Chapel. |
