Norfolk - Charles Bruce "Chuck" Bennett, 69, of Dellwood Dr. passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, in his home.
Born in Maumee, OH, he was retired from the U.S. Navy and also a retired Hull Tech from Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy; daughter, Katie McCurdy (Blake); three grandchildren, Emma Sarauw, Seth Sarauw and Baby Russ McCurdy soon to arrive; three brothers, Benjamin, Mike and John Bennett; four sisters, Toni Artz, Julie Ross, Marti Zeck and Vonnie Tabb; his aunt, Marge Bennett; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by Rev. Fr. Nixon Negparanon and Rev. Venancio Balarote, Jr. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veteran's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Catholic School
