Norfolk - James W. McFadden, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, September 13 at the age of 71. He was born January 17, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. Jim served in the Army Reserves from 1964-1970 and then began a 30-year career in Foreign Exchange. He was a Fourth Degree Member of The Knights of Columbus and an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Nora L. McFadden (nee: Butler); his daughter Tara Hoyle and husband Brendan; two grand-daughters Emma and Charlotte; sister Martha Johnston and husband Thomas; sisters-in-law Catherine McFadden and Margaret Butler; and loving nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his brother, John McFadden.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Saturday, September 20 at 2:00 pm with visitation beginning at 1:00 and a Chalice Ceremony at 1:30pm. Arrangements are being handled by H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Council 367, 5201 Kennebeck Avenue, Norfolk, VA, 23513.
