Anthony 'Tony' Lesnak, age 94, passed away Tuesday, March 7th. Tony was born on December 23, 1922 to John & Frances (Cepon) Lesnak of North Chicago. He was a lifelong resident of North Chicago and Waukegan, Illinois. He attended Mother of God school, enjoyed softball, and playing golf. He was a member of St Joseph's KSJK #53, American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus #731, and St. Dismas Men's Club. He was the last male member of Hobby Lobby Social Club and was a Charter Member of WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. He was a previous member of Mother of God Church, Immaculate Conception and a member of St. Dismas. Tony was a veteran of WWII having served in both European and Pacific theatres with the 342nd Infantry of the Black Hawks 86th Division. He enjoyed attending the reunions to touch base with all his buddies from Company M. He was employed by US Steel and retired after 39 ½ years of service. He is survived by this two sons and daughters-in-law: Robert & Donna Lesnak of Green Oaks, IL and John & Terri Lesnak of Joliet, IL. Grandsons: Brian (Kelli) Lesnak, Kevin (Saya Barkdoll) Lesnak both from Silver Spring, MD, and four great grandchildren: Taylor, Ty, Reese and Ryan.
