My Brother Knights,
In great sadness I write that a Brother of our Council has passed away. On behalf of our Council, I have sent a letter of condolence to the family.
Brother Sir Knight Randolph “Randy†Lloyd of Albany passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle against cancer.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie (Knox); his devoted children, Meghan, Kevin and Charlotte; brother Richard (Sharon); sister Nancy Halpern (Reid); and mother Helen.
Randy was born and raised in Illinois and received a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Illinois State University. Randy worked at a variety of high tech companies including CLS, ESI, ATS, and DW Fritz. He was awarded a master’s degree in software engineering from Oregon State University.
Randy was a vibrant member of the Albany community, active in the Boy Scouts, Knights of Columbus and Project Management Institute. He was an avid Cubs fan and Mustang owner, recently refurbishing a 1966 model. He will be dearly missed by his many family and friends.
A visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Mary’s Church, 706 Ellsworth St. S.W., Albany.
