CHARLES J. FRANK

 

Charles J. Frank, age 86 passed away at Whispering Pines in Plover, WI on Saturday, January 21, 2017. Charlie was born in Cedarburg, WI on March 19, 1930 to Erwin and Lena (nee Armbruster) Frank and graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1947. He was united in marriage to Dolores (nee Berg) Frank on October 9, 1954.

After serving in the US Army during the Korean War, Charlie was a dedicated employee at Ozaukee Excavating Inc. and then went on to work for the City of Cedarburg as Superintendent of the Department of Public Works, later retiring as City Sewer Inspector. Charlie and his wife Dorie were members of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church while they were residents in Cedarburg and later attended St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish in Amherst during their retirement.

Charlie liked returning to Cedarburg for the Golden Bulldog reunions. He was a proud member of the American Legion - Peter Wollner Post 288, and often assisted with funeral honors. Charlie was a man of faith with an ear for Polka Music who enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, gardening and his beloved Packers. He had a kind heart and above all else enjoyed spending time with Dorie and their family at the lake.

Charles is survived by his loving wife Dolores, children Mary (Bob) Winkel, Theresa (Manuel) Valdés, Janet (Phil) Foster, Joseph (Jill) Frank, Kathleen (Charlie) Sullivan, Carol Moralez and Donald (Colleen) Frank, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sister Lenore Stern, brothers Edward (Bernie) Frank and Erwin Frank and brother-in-law James (Ellie) Berg. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Norbert Stern and sister-in-law Jackie Frank.
