EDWIN RAETZMAN

 

Edwin H. Raetzman, 88, of Kenosha, passed away Monday October 24, 2016 at Sheridan Medical Complex. He was born in Wetonka, South Dakota the son of late Henry and Martha (Beilke) Raetzman. He was educated in the schools of South Dakota. He married Ruth Ann Hoffmann on April 7, 1956 in Illinois. Edwin was employed as a butcher for Jewel Grocery stores for 33 years. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, playing video poker, doing word search puzzles, and he enjoyed eating cookies and ice cream. During his 31 years of retirement he enjoyed traveling, spoiling his grandchildren, and laughing with friends. Survivors include his 2 children Nancy (Jim) Balla of Gurnee, and Roger (Chris) Raetzman of Pleasant Prairie; a daughter in law, Jane Raetzman of Fox Lake, IL; 2 brothers, Roland Raetzman of Urbana, Ill., and Melvin Raetzman of Dallas, Texas; 2 sisters, Wilma Ochs of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Cathy Raetzman of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 5 Grandchildren Ryan (Jackie) Raetzman, Lisa Raetzman, Michael Balla, Zachary Raetzman and Alyssa Raetzman. He was preceded in death his wife of 58 years, Ruth Ann, son, Raymond "Big O" Raetzman and sister, Maxine Alm. He will be deeply missed for his smiles and laughter.
