Bruno "Bronco" Bobrowski, 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was born on October 11, 1930 in North Chicago, IL to Stanley and Anna Bobrowski. On August 31, 1963, he married Virginia (Pekol) and they were together for 35 years until her death on February 16, 1998. He was a member of Holy Rosary, St. Patrick's and currently St. Paul the Apostle Church. He was a graduate of Waukegan High School, Class of 1948. Bruno was a Korean War Veteran with the 3rd Combat Engineers. He was employed at Cyclone Fence and Great Lake Fire Dept. He went on to the North Chicago Fire Department for 23 years where he also served as Fire Chief from 1973-1980. After that retirement, he worked an additional 10 years as a Building Inspector for the LC Building & Zoning Dept. and a Field Engineer with the Warren Township Assessor's Office. He was also president of the Foss Park District during which time the golf course was planned and built. Upon his final retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. Bruno loved playing golf with his foursome, Ted, Tony and Fritz. Bruno was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Anthony (Bob), William, Joseph, Leo, Ted and sisters Sophee and Stella (Walczak) and his wife Virginia. Bruno is survived by his daughters Kathy Bobrowski, Cindy (Mike) Munda, and Carrie (Justin) Alluri, all of Gurnee; 7 grandchildren, Morgan Munda (Mike Barber) of Royal Oak MI, Ryan Opal, Mitchell Munda, Scott Opal, Joe, Andy and Tommy Alluri all of Gurnee.
