In memoriam to Brother Knight William J Lillis.

William Joseph Lillis, better known as Bill to his family and friends, died peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the age of 93 in Eau Claire. Bill was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on February 16, 1922. He graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic grade school in June of 1937, and Dickenson High School June of 1941. He was drafted into the Army in October 1942 and served 37 months during World War II. He married Joan Krausieder, in November 1945, and they moved to Eau Claire where Bill worked at US Rubber Company (Uniroyal Goodrich).

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, VFW Post 305, and Knights of Columbus John F. Kennedy 1257. Bill was an avid sport enthusiast and participant in all sports. He participated in the Water Street Mile at the age of 93. He enjoyed various activities including golf, bowling, baseball, softball, cross country skiing, fishing, going to the YMCA, and lots of traveling.

Bill and Joan had three children: Diane, Jon and Mark, who attended St. Pat’s, Immaculate Conception, Regis, and Memorial schools. He also has five great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan.
