George Martinelli, 89, of Barrington, IL formerly of Mount Prospect, IL died peacefully on February 2, 2025. George was born on April 30, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to Dante and Edna Martinelli. He grew up in Landisville, NJ, and graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA in 1957. At graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. George married his high school sweetheart, Ruth (nee Scarani), in 1958 and they were married for 41 years before she passed away in 2000. He spent a career as a senior sales executive. George is survived by his second wife of 19 years, Joanne Fulkerson; his five children Jeanne Engelkemeir (Greg), Christopher (Wantana), Bruce, Sheryl Fredericks (Jay) and Dewey (Risa) and his two step children Jeffery Fulkerson (Stacey) and Jennifer Wessberg (Michael); ten grandchildren, Brianna and Parker Engelkemeir, Nathan and Allie Martinelli, Carly, Hudson and Quinn Fredericks, Stephanie and Daniel Martinelli, Gillian Breakey (Dan); and three step grandchildren James Fulkerson, Andrew and Sarah Wessberg. A private family service and entombment will be held. |
