It is with heavy hearts that we, the family of Fredrick (Fred) Stephen Pongracz, wish to announce his peaceful passing with his loving children by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, on October 21, 2024, at the age of 78.
Fred was a proud tobacco farmer and later in life a transport truck driver until the age of 70 years old. He was always the happiest when spending time outdoors, travelling up north for moose/deer hunting in the fall, fishing, and golfing in his younger years. Fred was hungry to learn throughout his life, and could easily converse on any subject whether politics, finances or other world events. He especially enjoyed watching documentaries and learning about world history.
Fred will be remembered by his loving family as a staunch supporter, always. Fred was the constant in his childrens lives - he would encourage and support them to accomplish their goals, he would push them to be the best version of themselves and he would be there, always, and without hesitation when they needed him. His children and grandchildren were always his number one priority.
Lifes adversity increased Freds faith and his incredible resilience and strength were two of his strongest characteristics. Fred was a devout Catholic and proud member of the Knights of Columbus Saint Edith Stein, Council 13049 (Rockland, Ontario). |
