Arthur (Art) Hill, 71, entered into eternal life on Sept. 28, 2020. He was born Sept.27, 1949 in Allentown PA, but spent his formative years in Washington State and Alaska. While stationed in Lakehurst NJ, Art met his wife Renee. Before the wedding, he was transferred to NAS Oceana. Except for 3 yrs., stationed in Orlando Florida, they never left the area. Their two sons were born and raised in Virginia. Art proudly served his country in the Navy for 30 yrs. and retired as a Command Master Chief. He then started a Handyman business, which became well known in the area. He had hoped that his son Tony would take over the business, but God had other plans. A charter member of Knights of Columbus St. John the Apostle Council 13467, Art served as Lector, Kovar Chairman, cook for the monthly Parish breakfast, and many other special projects. He was also very active in the church as an Usher, Eucharistic Minister, and Sponsor for RCIA and Confirmation. One of his favorite charity events was the Polar Plunge in which he had participated since its inception. Since 2017 he has organized "Team Tony" for the Polar Plunge in memory of our son. Though he traveled extensively in the Navy, he still enjoyed seeing the USA and Europe with his family. Art spent most of his youth out West. He loved to hunt and fish and he was an amazing cook who made some incredible meals with venison and fresh tuna. |
