Ronald F. Alfirevic of Hoffman Estates, Illinois passed away on August 26, 2022. He was 90 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sylvia (Serocki) Alfirevic, and his children Joseph (Jackie), Kenneth (Tricia), Ann Marie Lassen (Robb), Steven (Vicky), and Susan Stolzer (Gregory). Ron was also blessed with 13 grandchildren: Samantha Patterson (George), Nicholas, Sarah, Amanda, Bradley, Cora, Emma, Kyle, Steven, Tyler, Marissa, Jack, and Anna.
Ron enjoyed growing up in Chicago as the youngest of a first generation family of Yugoslavian immigrants Srecko and Ana Alfrievic with siblings Mary, Zora, Anne, Anthony “Ramâ€, and George “Budâ€.
Ron was a mechanical engineer in his earlier years working for Belltone, Hollister, and later Littlefuse. In later years, he worked with his sons in their business, Real Graphix, and as a paraprofessional at Glenbrook South High School. To all of his roles, he brought wit, wisdom, and a genuine caring for people.
He passed the majority of his later years side by side with Sylvia, spending time with family and friends. When Ron wasn't contently sleeping amidst chaos, he was asking if there was anything he could do for you or stirring things up with his playful sense of humor.
While he’ll be greatly missed, his family knows how absolutely blessed they are to have had him in their lives for so long. He was the embodiment of love to all who knew him.
Visitation Tuesday, August 30th from 3-9 pm at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd, Mount Prospect. Visitation continues Wednesday, August 31st at Holy Family Church, 2515 W Palatine Rd, Inverness, IL 60067 from 9:30 am until prayers at 10:15 am and Mass at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. |
