FRANK THEODORE DEFENDI

 

Entered into eternal rest, Frank T. DeFendi, 84, of Hanahan, South Carolina, on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in a local hospital. Mr. DeFendi was born in Dubuque, Iowa and was a disabled WWII Army Air Corps veteran. He was a retired insurance and office products salesman. The visitation will be Friday, July 11 from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock with an evening prayer service at 7:30 in McALISTER-SMITH FUNERL HOME, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd., Goose Creek. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 9:30 am on Saturday, July 12 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. James Blvd. in Goose Creek. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frank's memory are suggested to the American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Rd., Charleston, SC 29406. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elisabeth; parents, Frank and Susan DeFendi; and son, Jeffrey DeFendi. He was the loving father of Dennis (Suzanne) DeFendi, Christine (Jack) Moore and Michael DeFendi, widower of Marjorie, daughter-in-law Becky Behrens, widow of Jeffrey; dear brother of Sue (Donat) LaFond; cherished grandfather of Michael DeFendi, Sean DeFendi, Effie (Gabe) Gutierrez, Elizabeth (Chris) Heacox, Lianna Strikos, Michele DeFendi, Matthew (Heather) DeFendi, Shane (Lindsay) DeFendi, and Christopher DeFendi and great-grandfather of Alexandra, Corina, Melina, Christopher, Sophia, Cody, Kyla, Owen, and Lukas.
