Santo Locascio, 72, of Goose Creek, died Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at his home. Born March 14, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Santo and Eleanor Locascio. Mr. Locascio was a veteran of the Korean War, Desert Storm and was with the Fighting Sea Bees and proudly served his country in the US Navy before retiring from the US Air Force as a Tech Sergeant; his second career was as a machinist at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11991, Sons of Italy, Cristoforo Colombo Lodge #1060 and a former member of the Elks Lodge. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara Locascio, two step-daughters: Kimberly Zeilinger of Fredricksburg, VA and Camille Johnstone (Ken) of Mt. Pleasant; step-son: Bobby L. Knight, Jr. of Goose Creek; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sisters: Fannie Zito of Lakeworth, FL and Eleanor Newman Oaklawn, IL; sister-in-law Lucille Dickert and husband L. H. Dickert, Sr., of Rock Hill, SC; five nieces and nephews including L. H. Dickert, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC; many wonderful friends including Louie Capuano and Paul Lahan. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Betty Jean Locascio, sister, Vita Sasso and brother, Paul Locascio. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC, 29445. The Rite of Committal with full military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston.
