The family sadly announces the death of their father on September 27th, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Anne (nee Kay).
Brother Barry was a Knight for 58 years, joining the Order in 1964. He was active in our Council, serving as a member of the Executive and volunteering at may functions over the years.
He enjoyed every day he went to work. It was difficult for him to retire. Despite his dedication to his patients, he found time to contribute to his profession through active involvement with the Canadian Medical Association, Canadian Paediatric Society and the College of Physician and Surgeons. Barry was very involved in advocating for the building of a children's hospital in Ottawa and was on the founding committee of CHEO.
He is survived by his children: Elizabeth (Marc Paquette), Brian, Carolyn (Nao Tateishi), Jennifer (Brad Arndt), Robert (Karen Desrosiers), Jeffrey (Trudy Dundass), Stephanie (Darren MacEachern), 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
