Alfred S. Vendt, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. He is the son of the late Edith and Alfred Vendt, Sr. and is predeceased by his brother Frank Vendt, Sr.
Alfred served over 25 years in the U.S. Navy, was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Navy Chief in 1985, and later worked in the insurance and auto industry. He was a member of DAV Chapter 26, and a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
Left to cherish Alfred’s memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Giorgina Vendt, sons Alfred S. Vendt, III (Deb), Nick Vendt (Debbi), David Vendt, and Shan Vendt (Jennifer); his brother Ronald Vendt, sister Kimon Vendt, 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at a later date. The visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Alfred’s name to the American Cancer Society ( https://www.cancer.org/) or the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org).
Al was a genuine, caring, friendly gentleman and a super guy. He attended all the meetings he was able to and was always a calm voice of reason. He will be greatly missed! |
