Anthony "Tony" Gherardini, 85, passed away on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021 at Green Oaks Senior Living in Libertyville. He was born Jan. 17, 1935 in Serrazzone, Italy and came to live in the USA in 1955. He was a former resident of Highwood, Deerfield and Lake Zurich, living in Mundelein since 2015. He was employed at Abbott Laboratories for 35 years and is a member of the Knights of Columbus in Techny. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Maria Gherardini; 3 children, John (Nikola) Gherardini, Gerry (Suzanne) Gherardini and Julie (Neil) Gherardini; 2 grandchildren, Cassandra and Clayton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lena Benassi. The family has requested a private funeral mass and entombment with military honors at Ascension Cemetery. |
