Vincent J. Cammisa (Vinny) of Green Township passed away on Saturday July 10, 2021. Vinny was born August 24, 1962 in Paterson, NJ. He was the son of Angelo Cammisa of Klamath Falls, OR and Marylou Cammisa of PA.
Vinny had the best job, he was a stay-at-home Dad, and since 2003 he was a volunteer on the Green Township Fire Department as the Fire Police Chief. Vinny loved, with all his heart, his wife and children, Mr. Zeke, his family and friends, more than can be expressed in words. Everyone he met was his friend forever, his oldest, special friends Glenn & Lisa Kincaid, Dave Miller, his “old-fashioned†partner in crime, Bob Oliver, his pal, Bu, his crazy Italian brother, Chris Laken, and so many others that touched his life, and his heart forever. He was extremely dedicated to Green Township Fire Department, and proud of his role as Fire Police Chief representing the township.
During his short time working in NY as a marble mason helper, at the age of 24, he was injured, and sadly, he suffered endlessly for the rest of his life. Even through illness and pain, he still tried hard to make the best of his life, and especially the life of his precious children. He never complained, he didn’t have a bad bone in his body, he was a true Giver, and always wanted to help people, any time, any place, with any thing that came his way. Just ask him and he’d find it, a spare car part, nuts or bolts, flashlights, lots of flashlights, anything might be in that garage, and anything “old†he would tell you “Don’t throw that out, it will be worth money somedayâ€.
Vinny is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Patti, daughter Maria & wife Jennine, son Vincent & fiancé Nina Castiglione, and his loyal, always protective pal, Mr. Zeke. In addition, Vinny leaves behind his brother & sister in laws, Anthony Ippolito & Valerie Ippolito, Michael & Laura Ippolito, Mother-in-law, Frances Ippolito, his most special niece Sofia, cousins Gina Van Baulen, Carla Demarest, their families and many family members & friends.
At this time of sadness, I would like to express my deep appreciation for all the family and friends that have supported me and my children over the years, and have shown so much love for Vin. Knowing he was loved, is a blessing, and means so much to me and my children. I miss him, but I know that he is no longer suffering and is now at peace.
