Charles Alexander Walwyn, Sr., entered eternal rest April 7, 2021 in Chesapeake, Virginia. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 232 Chapel St, Norfolk, VA 23504. Interment will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. The viewing will be held from 4pm until 5 pm Monday, April 26, 2021 at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty Street, Chesapeake.

PGK Charles A. Walwyn, Sr was the Grand Knight of Council 367 from 1993 - 1994. He was an Army Veteran and part of the Greatest Generation. When he first joined the Army in the years between WW I and WW II he was taught to ride horses as part of his training. He was a member of the 92nd Infantry Division which was an all Black service member unit that was the only one that saw combat action during WW II in Italy. They were famously called Buffalo Soldiers for their unit patch that showed a buffalo and which was from the 1860's when Black soldiers fought against the Indians in the West.

PGK Walwyn lived a bleseed life. May he rest in peace.
